About the Game

Take a stand against ruthless corporate overlords in this narrative-driven adventure!

Within the perpetually war-torn metropolis of Promethea, you'll control Anu, Octavio, and Fran on the worst day of their lives. Help these three lovable losers as they endeavor to change the world (and maybe even save it)! Face down a planetary invasion, vicious vault monster, and cold-hearted capitalist in this cinematic thrill ride where what happens next is up to you! Meet a motley cast full of misfits, assassin bots, and talking guns in this race to the top!

It's time to fight back against exploitation and corporate greed. It's time to make Mayhem your business.

THE UNDERDOG STORY OF THREE LOVABLE NOBODIES

Decide the fates of altruistic scientist Anu, her ambitious, "streetwise" brother Octavio, and the fierce, frogurt-slinging Fran. With nothing left to lose and everything to gain, you'll claw and con your way through this thrilling five-part story full of gun-toting goons, otherworldly beasts, and delicious tacos.

AN EXTRAORDINARY CINEMATIC ADVENTURE

The Borderlands aren't just home to Vault Hunters, psychos, and weapons-corp CEOs—they're full of downtrodden, intrepid civilians just trying to get by. With a host of returning and fresh faces, including an assassin bot with comedic aspirations and a less-murderous-than-usual bandit, this unforgettable tale is sure to delight fans new and old.

YOUR CHOICES SHAPE THE OUTCOME

The decisions you make determine how your story ends. Whether it's Anu's vision of a universe that markets more than weapons, Octavio's dreams of fame and fortune, or Fran's frosty plot for revenge—their success or failure depends on you.

This game was abhorrent. I love Borderlands. I loved Tales from the Borderlands. What the fuck was this? For a series that's had plenty of highs and lows, it's impressive for New Tales from the Borderlands to proudly claim the enviable title of rock bottom—truly a feat for a series shared by the Borderlands movie. The writing is abysmal; out of my entire playthrough, I think I gave maybe three half-hearted laughs. And I'm not sure how to say this without coming across as a bigot, but I'll try: the game has an extremely diverse cast across every imaginable spectrum, which is NOT a bad thing, but it feels like they were written by someone who Googled "how to write diversity" and slammed on the gas. These aren't characters—they're characteristics. The dialogue is stilted, awkward, lifeless. It doesn't sound like Borderlands, doesn't feel like Borderlands, and really doesn't deserve the title. If anything, it's more in line with the movie, which again, is just another testament to rui...

If I had to even express how horrific this game is... I have no words. Louie being the only likeable character in this game says something. It feels like you are finishing this game just so you can say you did and you didn't pay for nothing. If you want an actual good Telltale game just play the original and ditch this one. The dialog is horrific, the choices mean absolutely nothing you could not pay attention at all and you'd still feel as if nothing has happened nor changed. On another complaint, you spend half of your experience inside of the Froyo shop and nothing else. There is hardly any actual interactive gameplay like previous telltale games in this that it feels like a never ending cutscene. This is the first game in awhile where I can officially say I wouldn't blame anyone if they just stopped and never finished it. Absolutely horrific. The animations are well done and there are some decent things or potentially good ideas but this game is a dumpster fire without a do...

This game is so terrible i want to quit from the very 1st minute. The caracters are ugly af, some latino-vietnamesse gay crap. Answers change nothing and this game if you can call so this terror crap-piece has nothing to do with Borderlands. I experienced ultimative frustration, it was like visiting a creep show.

Just not a great game. Really not Borderlands. Not something that should be considered canon anyway. The game starts by being extremely behaviour-corrective, which not necessarily a bad thing in the right circumstances, but the start of this game just pulls this stuff out of thin air for no reason and uses it as bad filler material. The story is... predictably bland, as if it was lazy writing to just crank something out during quiet times. It introduces characters and then never uses them again, not capitalising on the worldbuilding that it performs. Worse still, the game portrays the Borderlands world as this sane place where normal things happen all the time, and people just get on with their lives in a capitalist dystopia, which is extremely out of touch with almost everything Borderlands has portrayed to date. Finally, it introduces new elements to the universe that don't really "fit"; Borderlands has no magic, no Gods, no hand-wavium; it's alien tech or very simple (Sirens not...

Honestly, this game isn't completely unplayable. I genuinely enjoyed moments of this game despite not liking 90% of the game. The music is super ill fitting for the franchise. When the games humor isn't super juvenile its very corporate millennial. The story kinda meanders at moments and can feel super forced. My largest gripe is the main characters. Anu is by far the most annoying which sucks because her VA is awesome. Octavio started really rough but i began to like him more and more as time went on. and Fran.. I genuinely forgot she was a playable character because you go long stretches without doing anything as her (barring the few dialogue options she has each episode) Despite all of that I actually enjoyed quite a few parts of this game. There are quite a few side characters that are really enjoyable despite half of them basically disappearing halfway through the game. The mini games have fun nods to the rest of the franchise. The quick time event although really easy are well...

New Tales from the Borderlands is a TellTale style visual novel that stars 3 main characters as they work towards their goals of money, fame and tacos. With this being a visual novel I'm mainly going to judge it based on the story since the gameplay is mainly QuickTime events and selecting dialog options, and this game's story…is terrible. The best way to describe it is a High Schoolers Borderlands Fan Fic. The characters are all extremely one dimensional, the dialog is clunky and full of exposition dumps. The only way anyone expresses emotions is telling you how they feel out loud. The game also can't decide if it wants your choices to matter or not because no matter what you pick the story still plays out exactly as the writers want it to, making all the dialog options feel pointless. And worst of all, it's extremely boring. To call every plot point predictable is an understatement. The game is constantly dropping hints when there's about to be a big reveal or a twist and the...
