One of the most unique games I have ever seen. The whole game you are pointing and clicking and somehow it feels more smooth, more stable, and more intuitive than any other game I can think of. The whole time you are on edge, zooming around every corner clenching your cheeks in hopes that you didn't just mess up. There's also plenty of achievements to keep you playing for much longer than you anticipated. And when I found out the entire game is just one big VIDEO FILE being played in different sections to create the illusion of gameplay, my jaw was on the floor, I couldn't believe it. Please get this game and support the dev's on their way to make the second game, you won't regret it.

About This Game
At Dead Of Night is part horror film, part horror game and part ghost hunt. It seamlessly blends live-action and graphics to create a unique immersive horror experience like no other.
Maya is a student trapped in a remote hotel run by a psychopath called Jimmy Hall. Jimmy has tied up Maya's friends and locked them in their rooms, with evil intentions. Maya has managed to escape, but Jimmy is on the prowl looking for her. However, to get him to release her friends, Maya must uncover Jimmy's dark secret. Using an ancient ghost voice receiver she finds, Maya must communicate with the ghosts of Jimmy's past, who materialise around the hotel and gradually reveal their story.
BETA options
Right click on the game in your library, then go to Properties > Betas, where you'll find two alternative versions of the game, one specifically for Steam Deck and one updated for 2024 - use this if you have any issues with the default download.
OUR OTHER GAMES
If you're into murder, filthy liars and spooky cults, why not try our other game Contradiction - Spot The Liar - check out our home page at for more info.
AUDIO LATENCY
Because of the way sound is synced to the video in this game, some users may notice some audio latency, affecting lip-sync. This can be improved a lot in Windows 10/11 - not just in this game but lots of games - in Windows 11 by navigating to System > Sound > More sound settings > Speakers or headphones (on the Playback tab) > Properties > Advanced tab, then unticking the ‘Give exclusive mode applications priority' option.

I shouted his bald ass 50 times and not once did he enter the room. He needs to go get hearing aids. I shiggled myself. He has aids. Don't check room 309 I was there with riley reid and livvy dunne gyatt.
Loved it, I play nothing but horror but had to have a an friend play with me to get through it, if they make another ill be buying it up right away. I think a fan made or is making a fan inspired 2 game that the devs approved, will also be buying it up as well.
What a unique and fun game! The scares in general actually got me jumping and the main storyline with the different victims was intriguing and kept me invested in playing more. One of my favorite parts was locking Jimmy in the rooms and hearing him grunt in annoyance lol, but to get to that part you actually have to use audio cues and trusting your gut to get by him when he hides in the bathroom, which is a bit of a fun mechanic. Overall I love the mix of the old point and click games with modern rendering of the environment and the actual actors in the game, it is so cool! Love love love this game!!!
What is there not to love about this game. It's creepy, fun, nerve-wracking, and pumps adrenaline through your veins although it is a very good game there are a couple minor issues that I thought were kind of inconvenient. For one, the scrying mirror is very vague and kind of makes it difficult to figure out where to go next unless you use a guide or have watched YouTube Let's Plays. Another thing would be Jimmy camping. Either I'm just bad at locking him in rooms or the AI actually camps. In the game if you hide in a closet Jimmy can hide in the bathroom then ambush you when you try to leave the room. The only way to avoid this is if you have the deadlock key for that room and you're able to leave quickly enough and lock him in. But there have been multiple times where I have hidden in the closet and Jimmy has hidden in the bathroom and I have gotten killed because I didn't have the deadlock key for that room, which I think is kind of unfair. I also noticed during the beginning o...

This game is disgusting. I still have this sick feeling in my stomach from when I first played it hours ago. I love it...
This game is one of the best games I've ever played. I love the integration of live action and video game! The story telling is amazing. LOVE a good AUTHENTIC jumpscare. Jimmy is amazing! A game i could/have played more than once! 100% recommend.
Overall, there's a lot to like about this game. The story is interesting, and for an FMV game, it's remarkably well done. The characters are interesting, with very few of them being fully without blame as you navigate through each character's stories. The atmosphere is great, and it's a great guide for other developers on how to utilize the FMV style to create a dynamic game. I also really appreciate and respect that the developers did mention in the menu that the portrayal of Jimmy was not meant to be a true portrayal of DID. As someone who has worked in mental health, I can vouch that Jimmy does not fit the criteria. My two critiques: 1. Sometimes it's too hard to trigger the cut scenes. I'm not sure if it's due to the nature of it being an FMV game, but having to enter a room, then move forward into the room, then turn around toward the door, and then turn around again in order to trigger a cut scene is not an intuitive thing to do. I think they may have done that to pull more ju...
