Honestly might be one of the worst games I've ever played, I was lured by the rumors of the game being bad *but* you can see the characters from the first game at least. That's a damn lie, I know none of these returning characters. The arcs from the first game are meaningless, in fact the entire first game is made moot. When characters appear from the first game, they're just caricatures of themselves, especially Iris. The bits were reused so much and they were not done well at all. It seems Uchikoshi thought everyone needed to be Date for this game with the raunchy humor and it falls completely flat 99% of the time. The somniums themselves were also a major downgrade from the first game; the first one wasn't that difficult all things considered, but the ones in this game are just a straight line to the end. Now on to the new characters, god I hated them, I was really only partial to Genny (and that's because I love Frankenstein's monster and love trope, such a shame he was in this gam...

the word half is like a trigger word for my sister now i liked ryuki and tama and thats about it. also mizuki's new outfit. i have a document with all of my complaints about this game. i think it could've been a lot better if they weren't so afraid of spoiling the first game. sacrificed a ton of character development that mattered a lot in AI1 for the sake of being spoiler free. i will speak for hours if i don't cut myself off here. no sleep for kaname date is enjoyable though
AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative is a captivating and intricately crafted narrative adventure that pushes the boundaries of storytelling within the visual novel and puzzle genres. Developed by Spike Chunsoft, the game continues the legacy of the acclaimed AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES series, offering a deep, multi-layered experience that combines detective work, mind-bending puzzles, and a richly woven plot. From the outset, players are immersed in a world where technology, consciousness, and human emotion collide, as they navigate through a complex web of characters, mysteries, and alternate realities. The game’s narrative structure is ambitious, with multiple storylines interweaving and revealing new facets with each playthrough, encouraging players to piece together clues and uncover hidden truths. The game’s storytelling is one of its strongest aspects, featuring a cast of well-developed characters, each with their own motivations, secrets, and moral ambiguities. The voice ...
A bit too little about the Nirvana Initiative in a game that has it in the subtitle. The game is fine, though unfortunately a bit weaker than the first part.
Porno mag power!
The first game is better, but I still enjoyed this for Ryuki and Tamas route
The slapdash twist is the least egregious part of this game. The poor writing, one-dimensional characters, and unwillingness to ever commit easily cements this as my least favourite of Uchikoshi's games that I've played so far, only bearable when it repeats the same hackneyed jokes beat-for-beat from the first game.
WORSE THAN THE FIRST FUCKING GAME
1st one is much better than this. This game and its story feels like it's dragging despite a cool initial hook. I also don't like how they try to stay spoiler free from the 1st game as if someone would start with this. It really feels like the 1st was for nothing. I understand why they did a dual protagonist for the story but it's hard to get attached and Date was too le epic.
First game was better, not to say that this game was bad. This game is a lot more linear, in the first game you could randomly land in 1 of 4 endings, go back, piece the info together and proceed. Here the side paths are locked behind you having the knowledge of the first path. I feel like this hurts the pacing quite a lot.
