I don't care how much hate this game got I loved this game especially the Sekiro-like combat. I've never played a game based off the Three Kingdoms before so maybe I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to that but I liked the story a lot.

About the Game
From the depths of darkness, a dragon soars.
A new dark fantasy Three Kingdoms action RPG from Team NINJA, the developers of Nioh.
184 AD, Later Han Dynasty China. The land is overcome by chaos and destruction. The imperial dynasty that prospered for many years is now about to collapse.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.
Wo Long refers to a crouching dragon, and also refers to a hero or person of greatness who is not yet known. This is the story of officers, who will later become heroes, during their ‘unknown’ period, and also the story of a protagonist’s rise from being a ‘nobody’.
Demons in the Kingdom
A dark fantasy set during the chaotic Three Kingdoms period, the narrative vividly tells the tale of a militia soldier’s strenuous fight for survival during a Later Han Dynasty infested with demons. It’s madness in the Three Kingdoms like never before!

> Start the Demo with the thought of transfering save file to full game > Demo has DLC contents > Cannot continue my save after purchasing the game What did the devs think when they pull this bullsh*t? To make gamers also buy your DLC?
Cool game. I'm not a souls-like enjoyer most of the time but Wo Long has the benefit of being set in a hyper fantasy, grim-dark version of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. To which, I am a big fan of. After only around 2 hours of playing from the time of this review, I know I will see it to the end of it's content. Gameplay is solid and challenging. The game suffers from mechanics bloat and there's a lot to take in, but it's worth it once you start to get the hang of things. There's a lot of uniqueness and enjoyment here. For souls-like gamers or fans of anything ROTK's.
I found the game really fun at launch, but after the update that broke all my gear that I spent who knows how many hours perfecting due to some online cheaters or something like that I just lost interest. Tried playing the game again when the dlc's came out but the dlc content really did not feel anywhere close to comparable in quality to the base game. pretty disappointing really, I really like the setting of the game. Maybe get the game on sale, but I certainly wouldnt pay full price for it.
Overall not bad, some performance issues and confusing mechanics but overall very playable without being crushingly difficult
The beginning is a little slow and rough to get past but it's a solid game so far. It has customization for main character so it can look like whatever you want your character to look like and later in the game you unlock free respecs and character customization again. Reminds me of Sekiro but with a dodge-parry mechanic.
Wo Long isn't as good as Nioh 2 or even Rise of the Ronin. It has some interesting ideas that never pan out. But it's still a Team Ninja game with great combat and is worth a shot if you've liked any of their previous games. It has some issues on PC that will probably never get fixed, but it's not enough of a detriment to dissuade me from recommending it.
This game is amazing from start to finish. One of Koei's best Souls-like game. Not because it's a dark twist on Romance of the Three Kingdoms (While that is the main and huge part of it) but because of the two crossover parts: Lies of P weapons from Neowiz, and Mezuki from Nioh 2. And yes there is two outfits from Naraka Bladepoint, but really, the female outfit is the best. For those who love Souls games, give this one a try from start to end. Just be sure you are ready for the DLCs, Ringed City has nothing on these bosses.
TL;DR It's decent but you should probably get it on sale as it is inferior to Team Ninja's other souls-like games. The core combat is very reminiscent of Nioh 1 & 2 with the main distinction being that your dodge also doubles as a parry which makes the game feel a little bit like Sekiro. Overall it's not anything especially unique but it can be very satisfying to finally get a boss's patterns down and parry an entire sequence of attacks. Wo Long tries to shake things up with the Morale system which for the most part is just annoying. Your morale goes up as you kill enemies and progress through the mission which makes you stronger and gives you access to your magic. The stronger magics require increasing levels of morale meaning you don't have access to all of your tools until you make it relatively far into a mission. This might be made up for if the magic in this game was cool, but most of the spells are extremely underwhelming and don't feel especially fun or powerful. Additional...
