This is a good game that doesn't shy from using plenty of fanservice style frosting to hold the story together. In the short time I played this game, it had plenty of humor and fourth wall breaks. The short recap was a nice touch for players who haven't bought and played "Max's Big Bust." Pros: * Gameplay mechanics that add to the story. * Transformations. (Furries, Bigger Busts, MtF, and FtM) * Anthropomorphic characters. * Game developer actually responds to discussions. Cons: * This is a transformation heavy game. There may be people who may not enjoy anthropomorphic transformations. This is an Early Access Game. Hopefully there would be more characters from the earlier games making an appearance.
Where to begin Is this still a zany adventure... Yes Is it a fun TF enduced rampage... Yes Is it worth investing time into... At the moment yes...? And a big emphasis on the question mark. Max's Big Bust (The first one) is one of the few games I got on a lark that I seriously enjoyed. It has very zany humour, with engaging characters and Brad, Holly and Max are all fun, Pandari is a bigger pain then ever and dealing with the crooks from the first game in the first half of the game was a nice call back. The bigger pros to this is the puzzle solving mechanics are a LOT more engaging than the first game, which was one of the weaker points. The new mechanic while a very simple 'look here' or 'talk to this person' or 'use money to buy a bag of chips' is very simple it does spice things up. Really its a good option. Also the explanation for how the world work, and the self admitance that magic is weird (which is part of the fun, it makes no sense) is all part of the enjoyment in this...
It's about time they made a sequel to Max's Big Bust. I've only just started playing, but the puzzles in this game are way better than the first. The first game's puzzles weren't bad, but this game feels more like an adventure game? It's really good, but I genuinely worry about Max's posture. She is going to have some serious back pain by the end of this game.
(I am making this review as of the release chapter 4, i am sorry for my spelling and wording in advance) So far this game with the content it has in its current update (Yet to see all possible routes in chapter 4) is at best inviting but at worse just what you expect from the developers that it isn't enough anymore, do not get me wrong i like Lached up games but i feel like they should be able to do a lot more now than ever with this many years of experience behind them at this point, overall i enjoyed it but... i can't recommend it just because in its attempt to be a more serious visual novel but with still the Silly Quirks and running jokes to appease the fans (Even the new ones are a bit on and off at this point) theirs just seems to be something missing about it that Maxs Big Bust 2 as of this moment is putting me off of reading it.
Max's Big Bust 2 is the sequel to the original Max's Big Bust, so if you haven't played that already I'd totally recommend playing that first (I think you can even get them both right now in a bundle thingy) But even if you haven't played the original, this includes a handy recap at the beginning to get you all caught up :) If you liked the first game, this is definitely worth it as it's the same sort of thing. There's still the incredibly charming and funny writing (I caught myself laughing out loud a few times already) and most of the same characters are back (even Flamboyant Dancing Guy) as well as a lot of interesting new ones that spice up the story. It's mainly a visual novel, but there's puzzle/adventure game parts like the first game. However, these sections are way better than they were in the first game. There's an inventory system which helps you keep track of what you're doing easier, as well as a really useful hint system for when you get stuck. So if you enjoyed the orig...
Ignore the playtime counter, I was playing in early access and got a weird bug with Steam where playtime wasn't counted right. I have hours with this one. One of the funniest visual novels I've come across in quite some time, the bizarre result of years of a dedicated writer creating his own wacky TF centric universe spanning across multiple games (including one that didn't come out due to his work PC dying). The end result is a great story about someone trying to get back their lost life, but also you can turn into a dog girl, get surprised to a pokemon go knockoff match by a cat/slime girl atheist, and possess a robot girl by becoming pure electricity. The most impressive part besides the wildly improved art compared to the other games in this continuity is that the developer keeps improving the skills and trying things I'm surprised are even possible in ren'py, including chapters centered around a fully functioning monster collection and battle game, a variety of adventure game st...
PLayed up until the end of the current release. loved every bit of it and had me laughing and shaking my head at it just as much as the other 2 games. I love when a good story comes together and we can laugh at the situations because they aren't OUR situations. I am eager to see where it goes next and of course i gotta go through the holly path first because she is my absolute favorite anyone reading this be sure to give the other games a buy and play (read?) so you can be up to date on the events
The game might look like the first installment of MBB, but by now * the jokes have become stale * Max' character does not make any sense any more. Basically anything you did achieve for Max in the first game is ignored. * the green haired cat freak comes back. Even worse, she stands for team science. * Art gets reused. Would not be so bad, but the art styles (old vs new) are noticeably different * The Insect game was not a good Idea in A+B. It is not a good idea here either. * The first part had some puzzles which made me feel like a detective. Here - the one which came nearest made me feel like a burglar. The other puzzles feel forced into the story.
