About the Game

The Last Sunshine: Rekindled is an abstract shmup and rogue-lite hybrid about the heat death of the universe. Play as the last stars of legend struggling against the onslaught of darkness.

Light, the glory of the stars, is fading.
As we drift apart, They solidify in the void between.
Distant and detached, one by one we are devoured.
The darkness is coming.
Take up the mantle of the stars of legend
and rekindle our dying light
else succumb to that which is inevitable.

Features

  • Creatures from the void beyond the stars
Fight the celestial horrors of darkness, a host of sinister shadows and fiends that lurk in the space between the stars.

    -----
  • Burn brightly
Customize each playthrough with an expansive passive tree, full of diverse build choices and powerful combinations to discover. Outrun the darkness and make calculated strikes like lightning, or stride into devastating fire and shrug off all but the heaviest of blows.

    -----
  • The Stars of Legend
Join the fight against darkness as one of 5 unlockable characters, each with unique skills and traits.
    - Sol, our nearest and dearest star.
    - Vega, the retributor.
    - Titan, the behemoth.
    - Callidus, the evasive.
    - Gemini, the binary twins.

    -----
  • Rekindle the embers of creation
Collect stardust and nebulous remnants to power the Stars of Legend. After each run, collected stardust is converted into experience to permanently increase stats and unlock new abilities.

    -----
  • Biomes of the void
Three biomes to explore and conquer, with light and dark modes that drastically change the difficulty of the game.

https://youtu.be/pPEccHit5DI A fun shooter (def bullet hell for the boss fights) game, in which you will pay for your mistakes. I like the concept of the the light and the dark. I do like how you can progress when you have a bad run, or like me, move right into a chaingun of bullets! Each level is different and I am already having alot of fun with the game even though its not my normal type of game. I wish there was a little more information about what things do, but overall I am pretty happy with the game!

I really desperately wanted to like this game as on paper it checks off all the boxes for what I want in a game right now, but unfortunately it turns out it's slow and boring with unfair deaths instantly ending long runs. The game moves incredibly slowly with no mobility options and basically zero variety between runs. Yes, I did unlock the utility slot - no, a 5 second cooldown short range dash that you lose if you want any other utility is NOT mobility. Yes, technically you get random upgrades for your weapons, but they are really basic stats (damage, fire rate, projectile size, projectile velocity) and you can only equip one, so you basically pick whichever one is best for your gun and then any other drops you might find that don't upgrade that are just useless. And "+20% damage -5% fire rate" isn't particularly interesting as variety in the first place. The skill tree is also not "full of diverse build choices". Nearly every node just increases your base stats. Even the big nodes...

Great replayability! Reminds me of one of my favorite games from my childhood, bubbletanks. Skill tree, power ups and multiple abilities. Very fun! :)

Fun, difficult, and charming little indie bullet hell game with fast paced gameplay, with gorgeous art direction and atmosphere. It does have some framerate issues here and there, but it's new, so I expected to see a few bugs here and there. Looking forward to watching this game grow.

If you like the game Solar Jetman for NES, you will like this game. It has everything but the gravity and the backtracking, and I miss neither. And it has a really neat story to boot. Various mechanisms of upgrades keep the game interesting between plays - you upgrade your current avatar within the current run, and earn cores toward long-term cross-session progression.

Fun bullet hell game with a really cool idea about playing as the sun! I found the difficulty quite hard, but I can already see myself picking up new tricks and skills with each run! Definitely addictive and fills me with that 'just one more run...' feeling.

Tutorial explains almost nothing, there is no movement ability, no dodge or dash, at least on the main character, and you move slow as FUCK. Traversing feels like shit, fighting feels like shit, not knowing what anything does feels like shit. I could've guessed "Don't touch enemy projectiles" Tutorial what I couldn't have guessed is HOW YOUR UPGRADE SYSTEM WORKS WHY NOT EXPLAIN USEFUL SHIT???? Absolutely inane game. Would not currently recommend currently.

This game is about a Ball that shoots smaller balls at ball shaped enemy's some enemy's are 2 to 3 Balls joined together others are giant balls. The boss enemy's are not formless balls but are some what ball shaped. All in all this game has Balls and is a lot of fun to play. after all who does not like playing with there balls. 7 out 10 lots of fun ( playing with balls ) LMAO

An interesting roguelite in the vein of Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon. It seems to support more cautious play, which makes it oddly relaxing despite the number of bullets on screen at any point in time. Difficulty is uneven, with some bosses and minibosses having completely reliable and safe arenas while others immediately pressure and have no safe spots. Roguelike variety between each run is provided not as much from random drops (although there are a few of those), but from a Path of Exile style passive tree that's upgraded from start in each run. Options are limited in early runs but expand as more portions of the passive tree are unlocked through the metaprogression system. I like the way this causes build variety to be player driven rather than rng driven.
