**Edit** I'm playing on a Rift S, not an Index. I'm honestly sad to say this because I was looking forward to this game. I really wanted something chill to add to my VR collection. Don't get me wrong, theres a great foundation here but it needs A LOT of work. Trying to use the tools is a chore (after every action I performed the game decided I wanted to drop my tools apparently), the game world is very rough in design (common dev...smooth that terrain. Gross), and most disappointing of all, what I thought was just a tutorial is the actual game world - complete with static tutorial signs absolutely littering the landscape. Not to mention this game crashes Steam VR on every exit for some reason. I'm not going to sit here and trash this game because I truly think there's something good here potentially but its going to take some work and polish to get it where it should be at this point in VR as opposed to feeling like a dated VR experience. I really hope it gets there but for now I'm ...

EDIT2: I'm a man of my word, so this review has been changed to positive. Keep the rest as striked text for context. [strike]EDIT: The dev changed the store page description to make me look like the scummy one. Original description: https://archive.is/rVYrC I have been looking forward to this game for a while now. So I purchased it, booted up OBS, with the intent of bringing some attention to this new title. However, one feature completely kills this game. I'm unsure about other platforms, but the gripping and hand location is godawful. I doubt there is a single VR title that has fucked up hand location for Index (and possibly other HMDs) more that this. These major oversights in Forest Farm's development makes the game completely unplayable. As such, I suggest you hold off on buying this for the time being.[/strike]
I am usually very lenient when it comes to VR games, and I want to like this game but it is a buggy mess, not the best UI and not very good controls. The gameplay is pretty boring and uninspired. Nothing about this made me want to keep playing. The graphics are pretty bad too, there is a fog effect that I can't help but think is there to hide how bad the game looks and how low poly everything is. I wouldn't be too upset about low poly models but the performance is also terrible too.
I enjoyed this game. It's chill and I look forward to seeing it grow. The graphics are cute.
As the game is no, it’s mostly unplayable on the Index. Seems like a lot of mechanics aren’t designed for the index, example when trying to interact with things you have to aim well over the object for things to highlight. A lot of things are broken, and just stop working example when you try to sell stuff eventually things just stay in the sell bucket until you reset the game. A lot of collision problems, I’m guessing again because it’s not optimized for the index. Instead of being a fun game, it becomes very frustrating to see stuff in your inventory, and being unable to interact with most of it over play time. Picking items up becomes a mini game of frustration, waiting for things to highlight so you can attempt to grasp things Clipping into trees only to hear endless axe sounds gets frustrating. Wish I could post vid clips of what happens in the game. As it is now, the game is in really early development, and should be treated as such. Maybe in another ...
fun game so far! was looking for a chill farming sim and this seems to be on the way to being a really good one. creator is really active with updates so no bugs are there for very long.
so fun good game pls plya
I tried for about 10 minutes in non-vr mode, and cant really do anything. it looks cool but I can't seem to play which is disappointing because I read you can. EDIT - tried and is working now thank you, Tonic!!!!!
This game has a lot of potential, but right now the controls need to be ironed out for VR. I’m not talking about the key bindings, I mean it’s VERY hard to keep an object in your hands. They keep falling out of the hand even though I haven’t released the button. The inventory menu also has collision, which gets in the way constantly. Try grabbing a water ball that’s rolling away from you at Mach 6, and I gaurentee you’ll be smashing your controller on the floor. Manipulating the bucket into the well is very hard and gets it stuck in the player or the wall. Reaching down for some objects like mushrooms makes them disappear from view. It’s very hard to get a long log at the right angle to go into the wood chipper. And god help you if you knock over a fence trying to pick up a chicken egg. You’ll never get it back in place. Despite all this, I actually think the world is charming, graphics be darned. Has potential to be a VR HM, but the UI needs to be reworked ASAP. It’s u...
