Note: I played this game on Quest 2 via SteamVR for the purposes of this review. Also note that I've played a bunch of the pre-Steam versions of 'Sky Squadron', so my play time isn't indicative! 'Sky Squadron' is a delightful and completely charming rail shooter that plays like a love letter to 'StarFox'. With 'sticky' lock on and a big central joystick, hosing down enemies feels like, well, using a pressure hose, and firing the miniguns in targeted bursts is very satisfying. Levels see your aircraft flying through modular sections, destroying sections of the environment and fighting enemies that run along set flight paths. There is a huge variety of gameplay encounters within the sections, and the behaviour of the different enemy types means that the devs get a lot of mileage out of them without feeling repetitive. Fun in 2D but a VR banger. I played this game on the Quest initally but thought I'd support it on steam too and try out the flat screen mode. Obviously it doesn't have the immersion of VR (which this version still includes) but it's still a fun, vibrant shooter which is just nice to relax with a few missions after work. Good fun co-op also just shooting colorful polygons with a buddy.

Fun little Aussie Star Fox. Plays good. I have not tried it in VR yet but I like that I have the option for it. Great value!

A really lovely and vibrant rails shooter, with a great Arcade feel, and an Aussie spin on the charming VO. :D Great in VR, rock solid performance and just as solid Non-VR support too. More games should let you navigate menus by shooting them, imo. Looking forward to sinking more time into it!
