About This Game

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is an action-packed, immersive VR experience set in World War II, where you step into the boots of an agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in war-torn Europe. A deep single-player campaign bursting with authentic detail takes you through historic events on land, air, and sea, sabotaging Nazi bases, subverting enemy plans, aiding the French Resistance, and partaking in the biggest moments of the war.

In addition to the rich narrative campaign, you'll be able to hone your skills in challenging combat exercises and go deeper into the history with award-winning short films created just for the game.

You'll need more than good aim to succeed in your mission. Use anything in the world as cover, throw back enemy grenades, swim from sinking ships, and dive out of burning airplanes. You'll have to stay on your toes if you want to make it out alive. You're not watching history, you're experiencing it, like never before.

As a VR connoisseur, I've played a lot of VR shooters. And so far playing this title feels...off. And while I've found my way of having fun, I strongly do not recommend anyone else purchasing this. First of all the game is STUPIDLY large. over 165 GB for a VR title is ridiculous. And it makes sense once you realize that this game is developed by Respawn Entertainment, who had no VR development experience before this game and haven't made another vr game since. Don't get me wrong I love Respawn's input. They're responsible for the Titanfall and Star Wars Jedi franchises. But they clearly are not a VR development studio. Load times are painfully long, All the assets are not as realistic as they're trying to be, and all the gameplay is just weird and feels wrong if you're a fan of VR Shooters, but we'll talk about that more in a bit. Secondly is what you get for how much you pay, This game costs (at the time of me writing this review:) $40 USD which is a pretty steep asking price for a...

Its no Alyx but works well enough for what it is, sometimes could look better, weapons are a bit clunky but its enjoyable. Did corrupt my savefile however after a crash which really sucks, it did crash a few times but not often. Multiplayer was shut down in 2023, such a waste. Recommended on a good sale.

Not the best story line and combat can be slow / story oriented and repetitive.

this game besides what reviews say is a really good VR title, it feels like you're actually in the shoes of the solders, i havent finished the campaign and i still find the game great, theres some parts where the bullets feel magnetic but thats usually because the game didnt want you to go out of bounds or its a small in between the missions, the game is one of the best story games out there too, theres small mechanics in the game like cocking a shotgun with one hand or the detail on the weapons and sounds they make which really shows the effort they went through to make this game, this game was also made by respawn, i dont need to say more. i'd recommend this game if you're interested, i was skeptical at first when i saw all the negative reviews but those clowns played for 30m not even past the prologue and quit, playing half way though its a good game i will say people have complained about crashing however they havent listen thier PC specs, when i ran VR games with a 4060 TI (8gb) ...

I honestly don't understand why all the hate. The game runs fine without a hitch (played on Bigscreen Beyond 2 which is a tethered headset with DP connector). The graphics is pretty good. The gameplay is not as polished as Alyx but good enough. Huge variety of different types of situations. But at the core - just a linear shooter. Basically a good old Medal of Honor campaign. I'm sure if the studio was given another chance they would release a great game that will stand tall next to Alyx. Don't listen to the haters. Give this game a chance. It really deserves is. It starts slow but it's really worth it.

This game has all of the ingredients that are needed to be a top VR game of all time, but falls short due to some strange design decisions. First, the good parts: The character models, level design, sounds and music, etc. are all fantastic. The props and objects in this game have more attention to detail than I've seen in any other game except for possibly HL:Alyx. The characters all look very good. Named characters have unique clothing with a ton of detail. You can even see the stitching on the patches. And most of those characters have different outfits for different missions. There are a bunch of interesting levels including a moving train, flight in a B-17, German u-boat, etc. Just a huge variety of levels and missions. The music is well done, the voice acting is superb, facial animations are great (even the lip sync). You can tell a LOT of time was invested making things look and sound their best. You can pick up and interact with hundreds and hundreds of items, and I noticed voic...

well i tried. i really tried. but this game just sucks. character feel empty and stupid. enemies are just bullet sponges. there are only a handful of weapons to use. it may be that there are a few good missions. but i will never see them because them game is just bad in the first 2 hours. go buy hard bullet, bone works or for more fun war dust with a WWII mod. But just don't buy this game.
