About This Game

Mint Works is a simple worker placement game that plays in about 20 minutes.

Why Mint Works?

The game is uncomplicated enough to introduce new gamers to the concept of worker placement, while also having enough depth to keep the experienced gamer interested. Players will have a limited amount of workers (mint tokens) that allow them to purchase more workers or buy and build plans. Building plans gives players access to additional abilities and the victory points necessary to win the game. Once a player reaches seven victory points, (or the plans run out) the game is ended at the end of the round. Whoever has the most points at the end of the final round wins the game!

This digital version includes all the cards and rules from the retail version, with the advantage of having quick matches, great animations, sound effects and catchy music. Play online with friends, in pass and play on same device or even practice with 4 different Artificial Intelligences!

Game modes

  • Tutorial - Learn to play in 2 minutes
  • Solo - Based on rules for the physical game. Play against Justin, Mort, Rachael and Sonic
  • Pass and Play - 2-4 players or Bots in same device
  • Online - Play with 2-4 online players or Bots in different devices

The game is riddled with spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors. And solo mode is confusing and unfun I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this game

UPDATED COMMENT AFTER AN HOURS EXTRA PLAY AND A YEAR ON FROM ORIGINALLY PLAYING Still has extremely poor implementation. Continues to be simple language errors all over the place. I found the tutorial not very clear, especially for such a simple game. I have only played the solo mode so far and the displayed AI move is so fast I cant work out what is happening most of the time. It would be nice to play against an opponent who has the same rules as me but solo only allows games against opponents with special abilities. Implementation is much harder to follow than it needs to be. Layout of the screen is also in need of improvement. Couldn't recommend at its full cost before - or now at any cost. Its just poor.

Very very quick and simple game. For a quick game when time is short. The product page does nothing to promote this game. Youtube as always provided a few gameplays to see what this game is about. Once you have figured out the best strategy you can usually win more than lose.

I have just reinstalled this game (Jan 2022) and it appears much has changed since it first came out. The game appears to correctly run and all my previous complaints about no longer seem to be valid. This is not so much a review on whether you will like it more that the initial issues appear to have been resolved. It no longer keeps crashing, perpetually requesting that it needed to be updated as well as access to an external account.
