"Egypt Picross Pharaohs Riddles" is a basic Nonogram game... for those who never played one, it's a kind of grid-deduction-puzzle game, not unlike Minecraft or Sudoku. You're given a grid and a number of numerical clues. You must deduce where the safe places to click are. In a Nonogram, the correct clicks will reveal a small, obviously low resolution image or pattern. Yay, what fun. This is why top of the line gaming PCs costs thousands of dollars, right? The developer, Creobit, has copy + pasted this game an insane FOURTY ONE TIMES... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? Asset flipping begins at home! To someone who likes picross in general and plays it casually while listening to podcasts, songs or other forms of media, there's no denying that this game is more of that at a reasonably low price. That being said, there's not much else outside of it. Its art style appears to be a re-skin of other titles from the same publisher, changing it according to each misleading title. Meanwhile, the sound design is mostly adequate for every click, though its soundtrack gets old rather quickly, leading to what was mentioned previously. Now, its lowest point has to be in the reward system, as every level has 3 stars only obtainable by completing it without making a single mistake, not even a misclick. In my experience that meant multiple accidental replays and a higher play time as these are tied to trophies (not achievements). Best Picross game so far (haven't played any other picross games).

The interface is only passable, the system for crossing out blocks is buggy, and it doesn't have "no, seriously, don't give me *any* hints" mode (i.e. do not tell me if I make a mistake), but the puzzles are for the most part good and it's certainly cheap enough. If you've played through the good free ones like https://www.kongregate.com/games/BeardshakerGames/nonosparks-the-ark (which has a better UI than this, and is free), this is a good next choice.

Aside from the same problems I've noted in reviews of other 8Floor picross (paint-by-number) games (inability to look at completed puzzles and unforgiving interface), I've just noticed that these games take way too many clicks to exit the game.

I have played many different picross / nonogram / cross and fill games, and this one is one of the better ones that I have played. Unlike so many of the others, in this game it is possible to solve all the puzzles without having to guess (actually I think there was one puzzle near the end where you did have to guess at the right answer). Also, most of the picuters you reveal actually related to the theme of the game. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it is an extemely solid entry into the world of picross. Highly recommended!
