"Milk Inside" is an ultra short indie game but due to its cult following has blown out of proportion. The game is praised for adeptly portraying mental illness and turning this visual novel into indie psychological horror. You are literally the OCD inner voice in that girls mind that helps her through her social anxiety and cognitive dysfunction. The art style is like a Rorschach test and quite atmospheric. At this point psychological trauma has become a genre of its own, it loses credibility because everyone is doing it, even those who know nothing of this heavy topic. That's why this game is praised so much, because it DOES cleverly convey this issue without any of that grandstanding that is so common nowadays in this genre. After playing this i can't even explain what i felt. Its been a long time that a game made me feel something. Maybe its cause i dealt with depression and maybe i can put myself in the protagonist's shoes. It's crazy how a short game could be so thought provoking. It hit me in a way that i honestly can't put into words. Definitely recommend.

very unique game, don't know much about mental illness but playing it late at night at complete silence all i can say is it has very unsettling, almost trippy atmosphere. had to watch some analysis videos on yt to truly understand it and it left me even more impressed.

a harrowing experience.. a short story about a girl with paranoid schizophrenia. the 2nd game goes more into this theme as well and it's more aesthetic. but this one has more oomph imo and it'll hold a special place in my heart.

yk what, for under a dollar, this is a pretty great story. i also like how it has multiple endings.

genuinely a great game; affordable and short to complete. it's got an unsettling atmosphere, whilst still being aesthetic. the game follows a paranoid girl suffering with schizophrenia (if i'm not mistaken), and explores trauma in a unique way not many other games do. it leaves you feeling sad and a little heavy. easy 9/10 from me personally.
