The best horror game I have ever played, has a horrifying twist, and really gets you attached too the characters before the horror part starts, so you get HUNG up on what happens.

User Reviews
DDLC is quite a unique game. From the artwork one has one idea that it will be a silly visual novel, and that is made for people who are akin to the "dating simulator" genre, which altogether makes you wonder why does it have so many good reviews? As many reviewers have already stated, the game is best experienced spoiler-free, as it surpases expectations in more than one way. The original DDLC already hints at some of the twists that the game will have, and surely a keen viewer will anticipate many of them (especially on the Plus! edition), but on re-play of the game—as I originally downloaded the free version—there's more than meets the eye. I also think that it's quite an interesting title, as originally I wanted to give it a shot due to the praise online of the twists of the game, knowing that eventually the rose-colored façade would drop; in the beginning, I thought that that would be it. After playing the side stories I was happily surprised to know that the twist is just th...
I'm gonna need more therapy than all of the dokis combined. If I could play the entire game blind again I would. 10/10 would recommend
I love it my fav is Natsuki and Yuri and I like them and this game is fire you should buy ddlc plus too its greaterest
Absolute peak. This game manages to hit homeruns in every department. It is a fun and entertaining dating sim where you write poems and talk to intriguing characters, whilst the horror is shocking and grotesque yet perfectly timed. I wish I could go back to when I hadn't played this game so I could have another first playthrough. This is a genuine MUST PLAY for anyone who likes horror. 10/10 PEAK
an amazing psychological horror experience, one of the best i've ever played. i only started playing this because i thought it would be funny, but oh my goodness, this game was so good that i HAD to buy the plus version. this game is just so intriguing and immersive. 100%ing this game was really fun as well, especially with all of the new content added to the plus version. i recommend play the original first, then buy the plus version if you really enjoyed it.
Having played the free version back when I was 14, and it having traumatised the hell outta me I gotta admit that the money u pay for the plus! version is worth it. Maybe Im rich and dont value 15 euros that much, but this game shaped my personality is ways I havent even discovered (yet). I dont regret the euros I paid for this (I dont remember if I got it on sale or not) and I definetely recommend this ESPECIALLY if you havent been spoiled abt the game at all.
Spectacular game. Beat it 4-5 times and I loved every second of gameplay.
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is a decent remake of the original, but it feels like it could have been an add-on instead of a whole game. It has 2 main differences from the original. The first being the new user interface, that being basically a windows home screen with functions such as email, wallpapers, a music player and loading into the main game. (The main game has no changes so i wont mention anything about it) The 2nd difference with the remake is side stories. Theres 8 of these, 6 of them having there two parts. These are used to show a before story to DDLC, before the MC joined. This concept seems positive at first, until you realise DDLC witrhout the horror is litteraly just teenage girls interacting. Lucky, about 75% of the side stories are written well, but that 25% (usually being the 2nd parts of storys) can feel quite boring, especially when the dialogue is soulless. 9/10 despite what i say being negative, it still was mostly enjoyable, and the side stories werent so...
I decided to 100% the game given how much I liked it. Dan Salvato and his team showed a lot of dedication in what they put together with this visual novel. Also, the "plus" additions definitely enhance the experience by giving players a better understanding of what exactly it is that they're experiencing. I wouldn't encourage newcomers to go for 100% completion like I did unless they really cared to see and explore every nook and cranny, but for me, I was invested after beating the game multiple times. The base game was a wild experience on its own, but after beating the new side stories that were added, those will probably be the only feature I come back to in the future...that's not to say the base game isn't worth replaying, but the side stories hit much harder when it comes to the themes and messages that the game wants to convey. DDLC Plus! proves yet again that fictional characters have value, and those side stories did more for my appreciation of them and what they're going thro...
