Embarking on the quest as the alchemist Juice is a journey filled with surprises, both delightful and challenging. One of the interesting aspects of BattleJuice Alchemist is its approach to alchemy and combat. Experimenting with different combinations of flasks (which you randomly draw) to suit personal playstyle can be really rewarding. You can charge into close combat where you have more control over the situation, becasue you only have to face one enemy at the time and don't have to control the movement of your character. In top-down combat you run around and kite a lot while hurling explosives at enemies or e.g. pull them towards you or freeze them. As someone who relishes RPG experiences and is willing to listen to what NPCs actually say, you'll have fun with it (there is also a hint system if you get stuck). The first town, Caribou Creek, does not have a bazillion NPCs, but those you meet are unique and so are the quests you do, like learning to cast ritual magic that's ba...

About This Game
Juice, the alchemist, is called to Caribou Creek to fight the demons that roam the lands. As your unique version of Juice you explore the wilderness that once was New England. Fight evil in classic action RPG isometric top down view and in bullet-time close combat.
Find and craft items with game-changing powers. Master BattleJuice Alchemist’s deck-building mechanics by arranging your compilation of flasks to suit your playstyle. Accentuate your character beyond character customization by using ritual magic as long-term buffs. Meet strange creatures from the Crossroads while the dark plot of BattleJuice Alchemist unravels.
UNIQUE ITEMS AND CHARACTER BUILDS
Loot and Craft
As an alchemist you wear no armor and wield no sword, but you rain down fire on your enemies. Find flasks with unique properties in the wilderness or craft them at your workbench. In deck-building style you create a compilation of flasks which you randomly draw from.

Unique Skill System
In BattleJuice Alchemist, your flasks are your skills. Every flask can be used the normal way and at times in a supercharged, "jucified" way for stronger effects. Some flasks have powers attached to them that drastically change their effects when used, which allows you to develop your own playstyle.
EXPLORE A DARK WORLD
Procedural Landscapes, Hand-crafted Towns
The world of BattleJuice Alchemist is separated into vast levels of procedural landscape. Every valley, sea, river, mountain, building, stone, tree and item is placed by a unique algorithm. This allows you to continue exploring after you completed the main story. Quest locations are still hand-crafted to tell compelling stories.
Dark Lands to Discover
You are influenced by daytime and weather effects and so are your enemies. But they are also buffed by the evermore spawning demons’ presence. Find dark altars to hold their influence at bay and discover many other secrets.
ENGAGING COMBAT
Classic isometric ARPG action
Fight your enemies from afar in classic top down view. Throw explosive or freezing flasks at them, prepare ambushes of explosive barrels. Use the “Frog Hop” flask to jump away from danger or right into close combat.

Close Combat with Bullet-time
Enter close combat with an enemy, where you can interact hands on by dodging or using smoke flasks to avoid being hit. Manage your resources and flasks during these intense one on one battles against your awe-inspiring enemies from the Crossroads.

User Reviews
Edit: So my review below was helped tons by the devs, thank you devs! You can read their reply but my issue was around being zoomed in - if you are zoomed out in top down mode the character behaves normally on controller (I have confirmed it too!) So far the game is pretty fun, but the wonky control scheme is really distracting on a controller (please fix!). The character drives like a car, up on the left stick walks forward, down on the left stick walks backward, and left and right turn the character. When you throw a flask the targeting feels like normal movement but the character itself moves with the grace of a big rig :( There must be a way to change this? the videos seem much smoother on the broadcast as mouse and keyboard feels similar to the controller. Otherwise this game looks and feels awesome and I want to keep playing (except the tractor trailer character) - camera controls could use some love too as they also feel a bit clunky, but again, loving the gameplay and the...
I love blowing up all of these cute, quirky guys! The art style looks very nice and unique. It's a great time :)
Battlejuice Alchemist, has a surprisingly unique art style and very innovative gameplay, which makes it stand out from other RPGs. Since it's also pretty cheap, I can only recommend it! :D
While it’s still just an Early Access game it is already worth your time at least to try it. Pro: - It has a very artful look and feel to it. - Interesting story - Not too complicated mechanics Cons: - Combat does feel a bit boring after a while. - There is not that much exploring to be had (yet), but looking at the current map and some of the secrets I found there is some decent potential. Took me about 2 hours to complete this version as a casual player on normal. Looking forward to the full release but with caution - I hope it will not be turned to be a boring grind on randomly generated wastelands.
Battle Juice Alchemist is super fun and different! Mixing potions and battling monsters makes for awesome gameplay. The alchemy system is cool and keeps things exciting every time you play. If you like action and fantasy with a twist, definitely check this one out!
This is not your run-of-the-mill RPG! Some really unique item and skill systems (and a surprisingly deep building system) that blends in a unique New England setting. And all with distinctive art direction and a cool story. While still in early access, there is some wonderful potential for this game and I would absolutely encourage you to give it a try. Looking forward to seeing how Battle Juice Alchemist continues to develop and grow!
If you like RPGs and you even remotely like blowing things up you HAVE to play this game! The art style is great, the gameplay is even better :) Juicy explosion with blasting sound effects - it feels great to be an alchemist! Then there's all the customization, tinkering with the equipped potions. Blow some stuff up!
Tried the demo at Steam Next Fest, liked the visuals and new mechanics with combining alchemy. It was interesting to find out how the developers will improve gameplay. Therefore, as soon as I learned about EA, I immediately bought it. And didn't regret. I'm a little lacking in the overall dynamics and in the movement of the hero. It's still hard to get used to the controls, although I'm going through the same moments for the second time. Now played on gamepad, in general comfortable, but button prompts on the screen would be useful for me. And it seemed that I can't open all the interfaces, but I'm not sure. I want to add these all are minor things. The game has interesting systems and really fun, and maybe its slowness even better that I have time to choose, think and click everything, make many combos. Do I recommend? Def YES!
Fun and original game by a passionate Indie team. It's only Early Access so it's still a bit rough around the edges and the content is currently limited but there's the core of a great game already. The best things I would say are: -unique tactical action RPG gameplay with deckbuilding elements: combining potions in your own deck allows for an ever-changing tactical experiences, and there's a random element that forces you to think on your feet. The combat is challenging but simple to understand, with what promises to be a lot of variety when the game is more developed. -a great story, setting and visual style that all work together: it's engaging and atmospheric without being 'heavy', the dialogue and story is well-written and pulls you in. And it also integrates well with the gameplay - I particularly like the ability to cast rituals which really makes you feel like a magical alchemist, as well as enhancing your actual combat power. The visual style is really quite unique and als...
