The more I play this game the more I love it. There are so many mechanic details and little things that make it wonderful. Not for the faint of hearth though. The Forgiver is the best for dealing with mechs and tanks :3 (Fun fact: some of Lysander's dialogue implies that the enemies are not all female, despite not having any way to tell. So just keep in mind that you slaughtering waifus AND femboys :3)

tons of gore, lots of guns, and you can actually see your characters thighs in first person, 10/10
Game sit in library for a while. Kinda forget about it. One day see YT thumbnail claiming game is "Gooner shooter". Reminds me that I have game and could not recall anything like that from promotional material in the store. Decide to play it. Play first level. Get to end of first level and need to go down long hole. Look down hole then notice you see your character when looking down. See da booba. Think it's not really that bad at all sense you really gotta look DOWN to see it all and it is completely covered up with no weird things protruding out. Think they were just over exaggerating and move on. Hours pass and am having a lot of fun with game. Nothing on the "Gooner shooter" really catches my attention that would make me think that. Later notice I can do a slide if sprint then crouch. Cool a new mechanic I can use to spice up combat. Shortly after notice Player Character is not wearing pants at all while sliding. OOOOOH. Is literally wearing just a brown leather strap that goes fr...
When I saw this game on the GManLives channel, I liked what I saw. It seemed interesting and good. However, after playing for some minutes, I can confirm that it isn't for me. In the past, I have recommended games that, even when they didn't reach out to my heart, I was able to see that they were good. That they deserve to be praised, even when I didn't loved them. However, The Citadel doesn't fall into this category. The game is too heavy on my laptop. The game seems to be very badly optimized and, a game as heavy as Borderlands 2 runs way smoother than The Citadel. It has loading times that can't be justified when running from an SSD, and even less seeing the graphics it sports. The graphics in the game are something I can't seem to enjoy either. It's just... plain? Like something put together for a game jam, rather than a professional game. I would have expected something with more detail, like Project Warlock. It also has simplistic graphics, but those are way more interes...
One of the best shooters perhaps..... I just wish they would go beyond this.......
I have now beaten The Citadel, a Japanese developed first person shooter game, that advertises itself as a game inspired by old school shooters such as Doom and Wolfenstein, and it shows in the trailers of the game, yet is felt in the gameplay every second you fire a bullet, swerve to the left or right, and crouch to the ground for a damn clean sniper shot. This game is so damn fluid, it excels as an fps. My experience was an adrenaline rush filled with bloodbags, food, and the good ol speed is key, keeping myself on my toes at all times, learning the ticks of the enemies, navigating the open platforming levels, and strategizing each of the narrow corridors, with one goal in mind: free the angels of each domain, and kill the sleeping god. This was a fun and exciting experience that I love SO damn much. So, what are the problems you ask? Frame dips, frame drops, screen tear up the ass, constant crashes during the late game, some minor glitches, and just wanting 1 more level in th...
Fulfill your mandate.
A high quality FPS with solid mechanics all around.
No checkpoint is pissing me off, already killed every enemy and need to redo it because i fell in parkour part (definitely not rage quitting there) The particle is highly unoptimize for a retro game look alike on a 5600 and 4060 with the fps dropping to the 20 on some scenes Frequent crashes
Fun shooter with nice art. Apparently there's been some controversy with people saying/accusing(?) the artist of liking gore in a sexual manner, but I think that's irrelevant. I like the enemy/character designs, the theme/symbolism I read into it, and the guns look interesting. I had fun with the progression from what felt slow and a little tactical in the beginning, to getting faster paced once more weapon options were available. Biggest complaint I have is the boss arenas feeling a little too open (like they don't have any cover), but maybe that's by design. I enjoyed the game, and I plan on buying the sequel in the future.
