suspect this is abandoned and pulled out of EA to be able to make the claim of completion. Sucks because a lot of the jank is on the endearing side. Read most of the other negative reviews they sum it up. Things are present, nothing is fleshed out well

User Reviews
This game is an example & reminder on why you should never buy EA games, specially from a non-reputable studio/dev. They say this game's development is finished, but that's just the dev's excuse, it is not even fully fleshed out and it is straight-up janky. It feels more like I'm playing a game that is still in it's alpha stage - not to mention they didn't even bothered scaling objects properly. A car wreck that looks twice my character's size is an example. Don't give in to the positive reviews, they're either paid actors, or they're the type of m*rons that'd support any slop thrown at them. Which would explain why this is becoming such a common practice for bad actors in game development. But hey, if you wanna be an idiot, then go and buy it. No one's forcing you not to. I still wouldn't recommend it.
Its pretty cool game. zombies can made strong or weak. or mostly turned off. I play with semi weak zombies with zombie count maxed. As a result they are EVERYWHERE. PROS: High character customization Tons of difficulty levels up-gradable near everything wood building can burn good graphics boss fights first follower is a girl whose appearance changes every new game. can customize character after game started. (including name change of you and followers) lots of ways to get resources (including resource makers) traps to watch zombies die zombie can not climb huge map can make a mobile fortress (just be careful if using wood. it will burn and you will lose everything that's in a chest when the floor breaks) and more... CONS: hairstyles to mostly male follower tends to try to get in front of you a lot (so i started new game and left her in starter area) story line feels a little dry
If you have patience, maybe a low end PC this could be the game for you. I will not recommend it however. Everytime I have started a game it has been completely different to start. This time you have a companion that does nothing but fight and seems to be unkillable. Can not have it help fetch materials and it is obsessed with being in front of you looking straight at you when not fighting. Then there is the resources. So you have Iron that you get from beating rocks with a pick okay makes sense same as many games. Then you have a Piece of Iron, which th game does not really tell you where to get this only that you need it as it walks you through the want to be tutorial. I would think a Piece of Iron would be breaking off a piece of that iron ore you got from the rock, not in this case. Next your benches are huge!! We are talking out of the 2 benches I made both cover one foundation. So now you are forced to make a lot of foundations just for benches. Given how slow and tedious wood ...
This game was quite fun to play and the character customization was pretty rich and easy to use. Had lots of fun exploring and beating zombies up. Building is quite simple and the quests also seem pretty straight forward.
d
Start is tough but avatar movement etc gets much better with level ups. Helpers can be in your face but 95% of the time they help. Follow suggestions to make sure you survive first night. Great game otherwise. Bought it on sale and no regrets.
Good game. Very fun.
it vriy bad
