If you are a lurker, like I am, then this is the review for you. This game is made by a duo, two people. What has been achieved here is rather impressive with the amount of systems they have in place. From having a reliable Desktop and vr mode, to the humble animation of eating something, there are many things going on under the hood that many may miss. Sure, there are going to be bugs especially since this has just recently released on early access. Early access is meant to be a time to support the development, and to directly help shape the game. This game is no exception, the developers are wonderful human beings, who listen to you and genuinely enjoy spending time with people. One of the most impressive things I've seen these devs do, is on a few occasions, invite those who have negative experiences to the discord to chat about where the problems lie. These devs acknowledge there are problems and acknowledge that feedback is one of the more important tools in their toolbox. I s...

Putting a Negative review for now only because Steam has no sideways thumbs. There is definitely potential here, but the potential of this game is being barred by a very concerning lack of design and polish that will require further time in the cooking pot before they can get addressed. This is by no means a negative against the devs. They are supposedly a two-person team working hard to develop this game to achieve the goals they want. I just cannot recommend this title at this stage, but I would say that the potential and the interaction the devs have been making with the community might be justified enough for you to put some money in to fund the development. So what about the game? Currently, the game feels very much like an improved student showcase project done in game school utilizing store assets to create something. Its better than the countless effortless asset flips on steam at least, but there still requires a LOT Of improvements and features for this game to be worth 15...

Edited/Update: I had a lot of fun running with the developers (Christian and Jes) the day after writing this review :D We completed my first (and currently only) escape. I've been playing it daily ever since, determined to stay alive as long as possible before completing a second escape. I've made it a few days. I just wanted to say this is a really unique game and if I may add a suggestion, I would really love to pick up the enemy heads after shooting them off. I've seen numerous basketball courts around the map and it would be a healthy pastime. It'd be better if I could put them in a backpack but I won't push it. I won't push it. You're the best. On Quest 2: I've played this a little and started with the demo. It's a work in progress but leaning way more towards being a complete game. The maps are huge and I can't seem to get past the first night alone. After hosting and searching for sessions, I've found that it's best to host and hope for the best as of right now. It's a nice sur...
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my initial impressions review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/QpfVfnOdqbI I bought this during the Steam Survival Fest for only $1.39 USD. I think at that price, this game is a good deal. It definitely has its problems and there is a very good reason it is 90% off. However, you're also not likely to find better VR experiences at this low of a price. This is a dumb, silly, mindless arcade survival FPS. It was made by a 2 person dev team. It's in Early Access and needs lots of polish. However, it can be fun, as long as you can look past the jank. I had fun. If you're expecting 7 Days To Die type quality survival experience, you're going to be greatly disappointed. But if you're happy with the budget, B-movie, arcadey version of 7 Days to Die, then you'll probably enjoy it. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. However, the game was over...

β€œAlien Dawn” on Steam is a PC action sci-fi FPS with elements of a zombie survival game. I’ve enjoyed playing because game-play is satisfying and easy to pick up and it’s super fun to play with other players. I play in VR and character/weapon/gun selection is on point and expansive. If you like selecting cool weapons, Alien Dawn has it's fair share of them. The game feels immersive with various landscapes and really cool caves, highways and mountains. Expect a dark, moody feel especially with ominous music. Be careful, zombies, wolves and aliens with UFO's are out to get you. I feel a sense of accomplishment when we're loading into the rescue chopper for a dramatic escape. The developers are consistently updating and improving the game and I’ve even seen some of my suggestions implemented right away. As a player, there is no better feeling than knowing your input matters.

(7/05/2022): Months later and it gets the fine tuning! My gosh! As you can see I have been still playing this tons since I reviewed this. It's come a long way and wow, I can't get enough. The new map really just reinvigorated my love for this game. I never really stopped playing it, as I have a routine with my friends that we play this around once a week for shits. And the devs are as active as it gets. (Comment somewhere and they respond!) My two main takeaways now that I've really felt the game inside and out: You really will want people to play with. It's not *nearly* as fun solo, but it could be an interesting challenge. Thankfully I almost always see a lobby open in game nowadays! If you want someone to play with leave yours open and people will hop in typically :). If you get good, player versus player is something else. The amount of shit talking, running each other over, drive-by-shooting. God. We roleplay the dumbest stuff and its so so fun. (And this was all on the old ma...

Love this Game! I have been playing it since the first early access and I am impressed how far it has come so fast. The developers are super responsive to my feedback and fix things that I find. Playing with a bunch of friends is super fun. I love the giant spaceship overhead and the VR controls are smooth. The really cool part is how they are making the game so it will automatically give you cinematic shots. That way when I am recording on my end I don't have to make a bunch of edits and it kind of looks like a post-apocalyptic movie. There are some bugs in that feature still but they seem to be building it out and improving it. It's a steal of a game for $14 and the fact that I can play in VR and my Best friend can play on a PC... Dumb pandemic, he can't get a VR headset due to supply chain right now so playing on desktop with me in VR is cool.

Its a pain and a struggle to play this in VR. I'd consider this a alpha release, and find it strange that I actually have to pay to play the game in its current state. I couldnt even get into the helicopter at the start map. Skipped it, and went to next map. There I couldnt pick up any items at the beginning.
