7 Roses - A Darkness Rises

Short, basic HOPA game with limited features (no map, no collectibles, no achievements). The game is not designed for widescreen, so graphics are lower resolution unless you play in the smaller window option. There is no voice acting. Music is acceptable, but would be repetitive if left playing for too long. I'm giving this game a very tentative thumbs up because there are some interesting puzzles. Also, while the game and the HOPA scenes are basic, they are reasonably enjoyable. This is not a great game, but it has some charm, as well as variety for both puzzles and HO scenes. [b]Overall:[/b] Buy on sale, and understand that you're getting a short game that has an older look and feel to it. On the bright side, the mouse controls work smoothly, and I found no bugs. Side-note: This might be a good game to play with kids, or for those who want very casual, somewhat cinematic gameplay (but remember, no voice acting).

A nice hidden object game with an oriental feel. The story is about a mother, who has to save her little baby by putting her in a basket in a river. Later on the girl is an apprentice magician and has to save the world, finding also out about her own past. The game is mostly nicely drawn although some sequences seem to be made by indie artists. I guess the authors had two artists working on the game – and one was a whiz and the other rather middle class – otherwise the difference in quality of some scenes does not really make sense. The game is exactly what you expect of a nice hidden object game - I mean a lot of hidden object scenes and mini games – and I really liked these. The game has 3 modes of play: easy, normal and hard. The music is pretty nice and relaxing. I played the game to the end in around 5 hours what is Ok for a standard edition HOPA. I wasn't blown away by this adventure, however for a standard version game, it's okay and I enjoyed playing it.

The first thing you notice is that the game has beautiful graphics and music to match. It is based in a fantasy scene and you get to go out and save the world! There isn't much of a story line, so you don't get to find out about all the other characters you meet. However, the story still ends with a conclusion.Some of the characters look a bit spooky in the cut scenes, but perhaps they are the most beautiful people there? In fact, this is a different realm after all!The game isn't overly complex, but it will entertain you for some time. One thing is for certain: it does take your mind off things.On the "necklace puzzle box", I thought the game broke, but actually you had to move the items in two very specific spots. Here is a helpful hint: You can right click to put an item back from your hand to your inventory! Since I was stuck with a shovel, I was glad it worked out!So thank you for this fun game experience and entertainment!!! :) :> =)

It's a fun game.

Couldn't really follow the story but the animations and facial expressions sold me.

I played on easy mode. The hints were inadequate, but I spent a pleasant 4 hours not having to think too much, which was nice. There is no map in the game, so you have to travel the long way back and forth.

Rudimentary graphics but a fun, albeit short, game.

Boring

The game is short, has low resolution graphics, but has nice puzzles and colorful images. Not a hidden object masterpiece, but worth playing when on Steam Sale.
