KIRO is a short yet very fun horror text adventure that was only recently released. As the genre suggests, you need to type in commands in order to move, open doors, open chests, battle, etc. The game follows the adventure of a town hero, given the title of Kiro, on his quest to rid the crypt below the town of all evil. Exploration is key in this game as you are initially dropped off with nothing to defend yourself and nothing to navigate with. The game map operates on a 5x4 grid system and rewards exploration by placing a chest in every room. Each chest either contains a weapon, weapon ammo, or a map. The layout of the game is different every time you load it up, making for some great replayability. Fighting enemies is simple yet satisfying, although if you lack the necessary items for battle, running away into another room is always an option too. The main boss of the game makes for an exciting experience as you run from room to room avoiding it while searching for items. As far as...

What a little gem! Simple in design, elegant in execution. Explore a small grid of connected rooms - scavenging weapons and items to take on the great evil lurking within. The easiest games are when you don’t find the Maleficus until late in your exploration; but the most exhilarating game is when you find it early. Heart pounding as fast as your fingers on the keyboard, moving from room to room as the beast lurches after you, finding just enough items to defeat the lesser monsters in your way as you frantically flee, until you’ve scavenged enough to turn and fight.

I really enjoyed this game. It's quite engaging and no matter how many times I lose I will eventually come back to try to beat this game. The graphics and sound, as well as this unique control mechanic, greatly enrich the gameplay, making it more intense and challenging. All in all, this game is awesome and worth playing.

A very fun and short 2d horror rouge-like. Definitely pick it up when you can, especially if you a fan of old text adventure games. Overall the unique art style and the twist on adding horror to the genre sets the game apart. The indie developer Blekoh did a really great job making this game on his own. So if you pick up the game, let the panic inducing katana swinging commence..

I found myself quite engaged in game, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Control system is in part responsible for that, the other part is game aesthetics and art style which I adore. I got myself in such a rush while playing this game, almost all throughout. And even tho I keep messing up (i'm not really a good typer, lets leave it at that) I keep coming back to it. Its not frustrating to fail. Have fun and good luck, be nice you prick.

Easily would recommend. The text based commands were innovative and kept me watching what was around the corner with my next moves ready to be typed. I liked the narrator too, reminded me of d&d

I found this game by accident. Actually, I found Kiro II, and this one happened to be bundled, so I got them both. The price was right. I like it a lot. I even streamed it for a while. Pro tip: if yer gonna stream this, up yer gamma, because it is dark. If you like typing, and you find losing fun, this game is for you. This game is for me.
