<Steam Deck Review> RCT3 is one of my all time favourites from the genre, it is a fine example of Gameplay outdoes Graphics when executed correctly and since RCT3: Platinum is not Steam Deck supported there was no hesitation when I saw RCT3: Complete was rated as playable on Deck.. Insta-Buy. However.. First attempt it loaded but sound was a distorted mess and graphics crashed 4 mins later leaving no other option but <STEAM><B> to shut it down. For the next 5 hours I tried desperately to fix it, all compatibility modes and every version of Proton and Proton GE I have listed, alas without success. In the 4 minutes it did work I noticed little if any difference compared to RCT3: Platinum. Although it pains me to do so.. I have to give this a thumbs down, not just because it does not work on Steam Deck but due to the lack of new content or graphical improvements as described on the store page.

Still as good as when i played as a kid. minor complaints i have is that AA in graphics settings crashes the game, the camera has a specific angle it returns to if ur trying to observe your "peeps" making it a bit annoying, alt tabbing out of full screen locks you out of the game too making windowed mode feasible and then there's the outdated GUI jankiness, tho again changing the resolution in windowed mode also forces you to close the game and re-open it in order to not stare at a frozen screen (the game HATES this for some reason). it's kind of expected of a game this old, it's amazing it supports modern resolution at 1080p as is, but a fair warning. my memory isn't too fresh, but iirc this is also the first game they introduced staff management, i'm not a fan but it's less bad than other franchises. the graphics are definitely simple, it holds up semi ok in 2025 but definitely don't expect it to do as well as some other games from back in the day

I loved playing RollerCoaster Tycoon in the old Sega Genesis console. I am also happy that I have improved in building my parks! The down side of this game, I had to restart my career, due to my saved games vanished.

Please, game developers, update this awesome game so it doesn't crash anymore when creating a large park. PCs currently have 64-bit operating systems, and this game isn't optimized for Windows 10 or 11. I expected it to work better and be optimized when it was released on Steam in 2020, but still no update.
