Aeloren Tactics

This game is the very definition of why you shouldn't take reviews too seriously. I read the reviews and thought of not getting this. Boy, were they wrong. One of the reviews complains about grammar. I don't see it. In fact, that guy's grammar is atrocious. Secondly, the developer states that the font makes the capital "H" look lower case. So, that explains a bit. Also the other reviews about the game being too hard? You have multiple characters that have one hit kill items across the map at the start of the game. Also the side missions were very easy and my people are very strong. It just sounds like people are not actually playing the game and are quick to leave negative feedback. So, I just have to say... play the game. You won't be upset.

I have always like this types of games but this is ridiculous. I have passed first mission and tried and after getting to base tried 2 rescue missions. In first need to rescue mage and she dies on one hit from plant on second round. I have tried few attempts and she always dies. Second was to rescue an archer elf and im disapointed. She dies too very fast. AI of allied units are just messed up. They just attack even there are 4 enemies they just attack. This game has little of tactics maybe later when you pass some story point. In this 3 missions i have played i would name it Aeloren RNG insted of Tactics and im almost sure that devs didn't play it or any other tactics games like Fire Emblem. Graphics and animations are ok for me. After tring 3 missions can't tell anything about story. 3 maps i played are very plain. Combat is very good. Units uses a lot of theirs skills like arrow|projectine deflection, double hit and more but still its RNG or specific conditions need to be met fo...

Many grammar and spelling error, total lack of map design and absolutely no tutorial nor explanation(will be kind of rough for players new to the genre) There is many better and cheaper alternatives, don't lose your money on this.

I am a huge SRPG fan, especially with Fire Emblem. I use SRPG Studio, the engine where this game was made very often. I am impressed with how the boundaries of the engine were pushed. This is a great SRPG experience. But there was one problem, the difficulty. This game can be either really simple in certain maps, but really difficult in a lot of maps. (especially chapters 2, 4, and 10) Chapter 4 I legitimately got stuck on for an hour. The positive that balances out the difficulty is that there is no permadeath and there are many resources given to you like damaging items, tons of money, and my favorite, which was the Bravery Default item, which makes your protagonist not cause a Game Over if killed. The unit balance was all over the place, too. I found characters like Jim and most of the mages and quest unlock characters very underwhelming.
