❓ What is this
Lacuna (2021) is a narrative-driven adventure game developed by DigiTales Interactive. It blends sci-fi, thriller, and noir detective elements, emphasizing exploration, environmental storytelling, and player choice. The game features a cyberpunk aesthetic, multiple endings, and a story-driven approach, though gameplay depth remains limited. As the studio’s first game, it shows promise and ambition.
❔ How I played
I completed the main campaign over roughly 6 hours, exploring every area, experimenting with dialogue choices, and uncovering multiple endings.

🕹️ Gameplay
Gameplay in Lacuna is straightforward and deliberately slow-paced. Movement and interactions are simple, emphasizing exploration and narrative over action. Puzzles exist but are not particularly challenging or complex, and combat is absent. While the mechanics lack depth, they serve the story well and keep the player focused on the investigation. ✅ Pros: +...

About This Game
The Save the World Edition includes Lacuna and the game’s atmospheric soundtrack that lets you dive deep into the sci-fi noir world of Lacuna. In addition, Assemble Entertainment donates 10% of the revenues of this edition to Go Give One; a WHO initiative that provides COVID-19 vaccines amongst others for everyone, everywhere – prioritizing those who need them the most in countries that cannot afford them. On top of this, it’s the best option for all those who would like to support the work of the developer of Lacuna even more and do something good at the same time.

Another cigarette tumbles into the abyss. The sun is slowly coming up, glistening in the sea of buildings below.
I look up at the stars one last time before they disappear. They don't provide any guidance. They don't give a f*ck.
I have to make this decision on my own, and very soon. Problem is, I don't know how. I've never been able to figure out why I do what I do. Not really.
No more time to think. I have to go.
Here's the deal
You are Neil Conrad, CDI agent. Awoken by the news of a murder, you rush into a case that will soon turn your life and the whole solar system upside down. Ask questions, collect evidence, and put the pieces together until the ugly truth reveals itself... or not.
No takebacks
The story branches and ends based on your actions. There's no going back. Sure, you can rush your way to the end – if you don't mind paying the price. Play your cards right, and you might make it out alive.
How far will you go?
Some questions don't have a right answer. Will you sell out a friend to protect your family? Will you endanger a loved one in exchange for public safety? Will you keep the peace or reveal the horrible, world-shattering truth?
Hungry for Point & Click Adventure?
While the classics were great in their time, Lacuna does away with the baggage of many adventure game tropes:
Pointing & clicking Platformer movement controls (WASD / controller)
Selecting all dialog options one by one anyway Non-repeating conversations and choices
Inventory management and counter-intuitive puzzles Immersive, story-driven mysteries
Pixel hunting Optional outlines on anything interactable
Story grinds to a halt at every puzzle can always be driven forward
"x will remember this" Real choices and multiple endings

User Reviews
This was an amazing experience, I enjoyed the story a lot. The little puzzles were enjoyable as well, it wasn't really hard but not that straightforward either. It also might be harder depending on some of the choices. Either way I had a blast playing through the game. One run of this game takes about 2-3 hours, maybe longer. So I'd recommend getting it on discount. If you are an achievement hunter this is a nightmare. While I love the game, getting all of the achievements is just frustrating, you can basically getting everything but one achievement in 2 playthroughs. However, to get all the achievements you need to beat the game 8 different times. There is a way to abuse saves, which I honestly recommend doing. Since most of the big decisions that change the ending, happened at the end.
Lacuna is a brilliant sci-fi noir adventure game, with an engaging narrative, pretty graphics, a beautiful soundtrack and fun, investigative gameplay.
Nice game, replayable of course :) Nice that it keeps you thinking and remembering things all the time, but i think sometimes it might be a little bit confusing with those names of the planets, people etc. 8/10 enjoyed it for 5h. I Think That The Drifter made a better job on telling the story. Worst thing in that kind of games is, that there is not much voice acting, and this game deserve it.
