The Infected

This game stole several hours of my life. The positive reviews are fake, generated by bots. I really fell for those reviews. Don't buy this junk, cobbled together from assets. Those who created the enemy animations deserve a special place in hell.

Well, not a lot to say here. The word is empty. Very few interactable items, carry weight and backpack management, hardly anything stacks. Controller support is absolutely abysmal, and menu dancing with keyboard and mouse is annoying. I's a pain to control. All of the assets feel cheap and thrown together, there's just.... nothing unique or enjoyable. Just poorly assembled environments, no atmosphere, and random pigeons dropping dead on my doorstep every few hours. The community is eerily quiet, especially for how many reviewers have HUNDREDS of hours in this game. It feels like a trap, and a poorly made one at that.

My review is negative, but I'll try to be as constructive as possible. This game is way too complicated for new comers. No tutorials or proper in-game explanation of how to get some crafting materials. Simple bandages, so you could heal yourself, feels like a top tear items. One of the ingredients for it is tallow (wtf is tallow?). In order to get tallow from animals, you need butchers table, but before you can build one, you need to find a blueprint for it, for goodness sake, and to figure that one out, I had to look online. WHAT?! Now, imagine how many times you are going to die before you find that bloody blueprint. GOOD LUCK! I played Subsistence, in comparison - quite a challenging title too with its own complications. However, there are tutorials in place, you can read them and figure stuff out, and all makes sense in the end. The Infected on the other hand won't show that user friendly approach. ANOTHER game where the use of a controller is an afterthought to the DEVs. Totally off, and can't play it because the damn mapping won't let me put the keys to the controller. I'm voting 5 NEGATIVE stars, for this game! And I really wanted to play it. But I'm not sitting around with a hot laptop on my lap to be able to. With so many other games out there that DO actually work with a controller, I'll just have to chalk this up as a loss, ask for my $ back, and never look in it's direction again.

There has not been an update since May this year 2025. The game could be great, but lacks a main storyline. The Devs are slow to finish this game, if they intend on finishing it at all.

absolutely not working, from the gameplay to the interface this game needs to be completely deleted and remade, there is no work around it! if i can't even pick the planks from the saw bench, and this is like the first minute of the game...come on bro, what more can I say about it?(why tf would you put things in with E but take them out with right click, it doesn't work, right click does nothing, not to mention that you do not see a prompt, logged out, closed the game, did all that good stuff, still same issues) absolute garbage! the functions, the crafting everything feels very counter-intuitive like it was designed by someone that does everything backwards...fix your bugs, and overhaul that interface, it is dog....t, and the movement of the character feels sluggish and weird.

I am a city builder/sim player and this is my first try at a survival game - I am loving it. It is highly addictive and customizable to your preferred level of difficulty. I would suggest watching videos to get the mechanics of the game, though, it's not intuitive. Replayability is a 10, there are so many options to base building available. The dev is steadily improving the game so it's well worth the money.

this sucker is rough feels like they slapped enough game together to list it and then abandoned it id refund if my dumbass had not left it running while i ran errands and surppased the time period

love the free play on this, customizable to difficulty you are wanting to play. great time killer.
