Still the best shooter in its class, simple, arcadey tactical fun. Ppl complaining are a bunch of zoomers who want to play as a character with purple hair.

Experience Las Vegas like never before - through revolutionary next- generation technology as you work against the clock to keep one of the world's most recognizable cities from utter devastation.
- New Leader, New Team - Team Rainbow ushers in a new breed of heroes. With a new team comes added responsibility. Tactics play a MAJOR role in your team's success, as each member comes equipped with his own skill set: Logan Keller, team leader and recon expert; Michael Walter, heavy weapons and demolition expert; and Jung Park, long range and electronics specialist.
- Special Order Location - Experience a new level of squad-based realism as your teammates, Michael and Jung, offer you real-time tactical suggestions like busting through walls or hacking computers, all in a race against time to locate the heart of the terrorist cell.

- Next-Generation Artificial Intelligence - Next-generation technology brings a higher level of artificial intelligence to Rainbow Six. As you get past the grunts and advance closer to the center of the terrorist cell, encounter deadlier, more skilled enemies who work together as a group to counter every move you make.

Rainbow Six: Vegas is a classic, tactical fps/tps hybrid which has you and your interestingly diverse squad defending Las Vegas, Nevada from a terrorist organization, using squad tactics and mechanics such as constantly utilizing cover, breaching doors, using snake cams, ordering your squad mates, and more. Pros: + Basically mandatory tactical gameplay/combat + Gunplay is solid and aged well + Good writing + Some humor sprinkled around + AI is decent and not completely scripted + Does not require UPlay, was made before Ubisoft became corrupt Cons: - The overall plot is quite generic and bland - Most of the graphics did not age well - Very little game settings, but there is enough - None of the characters are interesting or memorable - Whole game is a one-trick pony - Anti-climactic ending lead into direct sequel In conclusion, it is still a fun game to play through whether it be a first-time play or for nostalgia, however I would not expect anything new or crazy for today’s stan...
Rainbow Six Vegas is an absolute classic. It got a lot of things right during a time when FPS shooters were still trying to find their way. Its campaign takes advantage of the beautiful Vegas strip at night to make gunfights genuinely fun to engage in and beautiful to look at. The story writing itself is sub par at best, but the gameplay is very fun. Each gun feels powerful to use and the level design complements the weaponry you select. Friendly and enemy AI are fun to fight. They take cover and execute flanking maneuvers to strong effect. You’ve really got to think through your engagements. Which is more than I can say of certain modern day tactical shooters. Public multiplayer servers were shut down some time ago, but LAN still works perfectly. I took advantage of this using software to create a virtual LAN network to play co-op with my friends. Makes the experience even better.
Still a classic, highly recommend!
classic
Played this on Xbox 360 back in the day. This game pretty much got me into the R6 series. It's a tactical FPS game with third person while in cover. You get to command two other AI teammates throughout the levels.
yes
Amazing environments to shoot your way through in both the campaign and terrorist hunt (there are few really cool maps only in this mode), and fun squad mechanics. I will definitely play this one again someday.
The deagle + riot shield load out actually lets you play like John Rambo
Terrible game. Save your money as the developers want you to feel pain while playing. Crazy and unbalanced difficulty spikes, dumb AI, horrible check points, and cheap enemy spawning positions make having fun difficult as it is not rewarding. Many times you die not because you are playing bad but because of terrible game design. If you want to play much better tactical shooters try out the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter games for PC.
the maps and enviorments are pretty for its time, but the gameplay, voice acting and story are just poor. doesnt hold up well, the second game is a bit better.
