About This Game
Freelance mariner Jack Carver is cursing the day he ever came to this island. A week ago, a brash female reporter named Valerie had offered him an incredible sum of cash to take her to this unspoiled paradise. Shortly after docking, however, Jack's boat was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia group swarming about the island.
With his boat destroyed, his money gone, and the gorgeous Valerie suddenly missing, Jack now finds himself facing an army of mercenaries amidst the wilds of the island, with nothing but a gun and his wits to survive. But the further he pushes into the lush jungle canopy, the stranger things become.
Jack encounters an insider within the militia group who reveals the horrific details of the mercenaries' true intentions. He presents Jack with an unsettling choice: battle the deadliest mercenaries, or condemn the human race to a maniac's insidious agenda.

Even after all these years, this game is still fun to play. Really enjoyable experience! Score: 8.9/10
the first far cry not made by ubisoft and it was before crysis made by cryteck
Despite its age, Far Cry is still a good FPS. It looks quite good, the levels are vast and some offers a bit of agency when it comes to completing objectives. The gun play is varied and very satisfying. The plot is interesting, but the story is just an excuse for the gameplay. The characters are forgettable. However, the atmosphere and overall vibe of this game is amazing. A must-play.
❓ What is this
Far Cry (2004) is a first-person shooter developed by Crytek and published by Ubisoft. Praised for its open-ended level design, advanced AI for its time, and large tropical environments.
❔ How I played
Completed the main campaign in about 12 hours. Explored most areas and experimented with different combat approaches.

🕹️ Gameplay
Freedom of choice is the main strength. You can use stealth, long-range sniping, or direct assault. AI reacts dynamically, making encounters tense and unpredictable. Drawbacks include unbalanced difficulty, unfair enemy placement, and an outdated checkpoint system. These factors can lead to frustration during gameplay. ✅ Pros: + Open, sandbox-style levels with multiple ways to complete objectives + Impressive graphics for the release era, lush tropical environments + Advanced AI that flanks, uses cover, and reacts dynamically + Varied weapon arsenal with satisfying gunplay + Solid techni...
played the game on the hardest difficulty (without ai auto balance since that makes your game easier), headshots do a lot of damage to enemies, but you're quite weak to bullets yourself as you melt in a few shots in full gear the enemies also have a very physical response to bullets which is cool to see as a tech demo, and the battles towards the end were quite tough, mainly from the position they put you in the enemies also have a lot of extra dialogue when looking at them through binoculars, which is quite nice to hear to expand more on what they think, and they also seem to have more dialogue than the named characters there is a good balance of outdoor and indoor segments and the binoculars you get are really useful for finding enemies outside, and while most of the game has soldiers shooting at you, around the halfway point the game turns into an creature hunter with the creature designs being quite reminiscent of serious sam and half life opposing force, these creatures are clearl...
Crashes randomly at startup, NPCs see and shoot you through walls, auto saved checkpoints can leave you on a death loop. The scenery is pretty though but that doesnt make it playable.
shortened my lifespan by 20 years
I really want to say something good, but this game is even on normal sooooo freaking hard, if you are not a 360 noscope pro, like every enemy. I wasnt able to finish it yet due to its difficulty. Im at a mission where everyone knows instanstly where i am even if i kill someone silently miles away from them. Thats why i sadly cant recommend it.
A classic game with classic vibe. Believe me, you're gonna like this game even it's old
