Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my initial impressions review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/h9Ve-yYnABc I personally was not a big fan of this gameplay. However, I could see others enjoying it a lot more than I did. It's a unique game for sure. You're basically Ironman in space, except you have to call in for support. You'll have to mine the area asteroids, but watch out for any roving enemy ships. Enemies do a ton of damage. You are able to do several upgrades to give you a fighting chance, however, at least early on, it seems you are severely underpowered. So that means you'll be doing a lot of hit and runs. Call for support, watch them die fast, get your cooldown strike that does decent damage, maybe use your main weapon to bring down one of the smaller ships, & use your shield and get out of Dodge. Rinse and repeat. So far that's been the whole game. You definitely need to find the upgrades so that you can break down some of the enemy defenses. I was...

About This Game
You will progress through a story-rich campaign that can be played as a single-player adventure or you can invite your friends at any time for some co-op action.
As a pilot for the Starfall fleet, you will serve as a hybrid role of fighter ace and forward observer. Close with the enemy and open a path for your fleet using a mixture of personal weapons to destroy corvettes, fighter escorts, turrets, and sub-systems. Then call in the your own capital ships, configure them on the fly, and command them against your enemy.
New pilots can expect a thrilling mix of space flight sim, first-person-shooter, and tactical RTS. All wrapped up in an immersive VR experience with great drop-in co-op support.
FEATURING...
- Starfall Campaign: Unlock the secrets of Epsilon Indi with a fully voice acted campaign from an amazing cast!
- Outbreak Survivor: A prequel mission that tells the story of Hibernia's final fight and the evacuation of the Beta Pegasi system. This is a challenging and replayable mission consisting of multiple waves, boss fights, and a frantic final encounter as you escort your fleet out of a doomed system.
- Free-fly mode: A relaxing and (mostly) safe system to test out combat mechanics or socialize with your fellow pilots.
- Drop-in online co-op: While all gamemodes are fully playable as a single-player experience, at any time you can invite your friends to fly and fight together.

Space is big. Really, big. You won't believe how vastly hugely mindboggingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space. So instead, wrap your head around Orbital Strike VR and get involved in some awesome Indie game VR space action. Then you don't have to go outside, or off the planet to experience space. If you like sci-fi (and if you twigged the quote at the beginning of this review, you probably do) then you'll likely enjoy the campaign, and generally whizzing around in space. This is proudly sci-fi indie VR (AAA buffs will be disappointed with graphics, I'm sure) but the depth and gameplay loops are there to keep me playing. Great fun. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the campaign progresses. I'll be back to update the review when I'm done. aaaaaand....That's me done. Awesome sci-fi campaign. What a universe. Such lore. So much more to explore. I love the universe that's been created. It's great sci...
Now THIS is a hidden VR gem! I was a little hesitant, it just seemed odd, the concept of space travel in nothing more than a suit. But the more you play the more it makes sense and while it may not be super practical IRL, it makes for a hell of an experience. It could make sense as a spec ops type deal. Either way it is A LOT of fun. I really enjoyed the campaign, I wish it was longer. I still have yet to unlock all the research, so there is still lots left to do. Definitely worth a play! Especially if you enjoy Jet Island, this is a much better version.
Really enjoyed this game. The POV is quite unique. Somewhat similar to BattleGroupVR if you've played there, but shifted far towards 1st person. Seems like there's a lot of great room for expansion and replaying. I really enjoyed the fleet management aspects of the game overall. Easily worth $20.

Do you know how to fly using nothing but your arms? No? I think you'll find this game will show you otherwise. This game is as fast-paced as you want it to be. Good level of strategy involved; you can sit back and mastermind your AI assets through fights or you can dive in and get involved directly to do things like pin-point strikes on weapon hardpoints. There were a few points that had me stumped until I realised the latter was an option, and then it was a whole new game. The concept used here really could go deeper as a whole other game, but this is absolutely fine for what it is. I imagine the Outbreak mode, fighting off increasingly difficult waves of enemies while managing resources, is a lot of fun with friends. If you've played Freespace 2, imagine instead of a TAG missile you get to point your fist at a ship and watch it die in a blaze of coherent energy death. And it's called the "Command Dagger". Good times.
Man, I'm really sitting on the border with this one. Is it good..? kinda? Look, no hate to the devs or anything, but the actual minute-to-minute gameplay of this one is kinda meh. The idea is pretty cool, the atmosphere is nice, the story as I've seen it is... cliche, but perfectly fine. There are unfortunately quite a few things getting in the way of fun when it comes to this game though, it comes close to being fun, and I'm certain its very fixable, but these things just really hold the game back for me as the game is currently: Yes, space is big and empty, I get that, but is it really neccessary to fill the game with that much empty? The distance between points of interest is pretty dang far, often taking anywhere from a few, to several minutes pointing your hands directly where you want to go, and just waiting until you get there. Why can't travel be some fun little minigame with some kind of small challenge to boost your speed? It really doesn't make much sense to literally leav...
Heaps of fun. Good progression in weapons and enemies, and I'm only just getting started.
Sure, the graphics are kind of blocky but that is a pretty fun space shooting/strategy game. It is quite unique you use your grip buttons to propel yourself and your main hand to shoot block with off hand. The game is very chaotic and they kind of just throw you into it which is fun and confusing as you don't really understand what is going on around you at the start. Eventually you get your bearings and start to explore the sectors one by one each one has asteroids to mine and enemies to kill. The enemies other than the small type ships are all VERY powerful you basically have to run in get a few good hits and try to fly in circles before you are low health and need to run away to get health back. There are fleet mechanics to this game where you call in ships to take on the enemies, they are powerful but do not have much health and die very fast.. you have a seemingly unlimited supply of them so you end up just spawning them as fast as they die and really don't have time to do any ...
Its a little rough around the edges, but its fun and it has really innovative gameplay, worth a buy for sure
