Freedom Fighters

A product of the time to be sure, but a good one regardless. I grew up with this game and decided to get it on PC as an adult and it still the fun I remember it being. Story is there and with the soundtrack by the legendary Jesper Kyd you are sure to at least have a good time running and gunning. Stealth isn't really a thing in this but there are some moments where sneaking by rather than running in head first into conflict is a better idea. For the story, during WWII the Russians create the first Nuke and end the war. After the cold war, they move on to full war and attempt to occupy the USA. You play Chris, a plumber, who gets wrapped into this fight and joins the resistance. The game play: The game play is run and gun but a cool twist on fighters you recruit. None have special abilities but all follow simple commands. Scout, Defend and Regroup. One of my favourite game of all time. Depending of what maps you complete or just some objective on them, you playthtrought on the neighbor maps will be a little different and easier or harder in different ways. Recommend it with all my heart!!!

i miss my childhood

If any game deserves a remake, its this one. Loved this game as a kid. Its a bit clunky by today's standards of course, but still so great. A remake of this could be fantastic.

Don’t let the release date and graphics fool you! This is an absolute video game masterpiece, boosted by an incredible soundtrack by none other than Jesper Kyd. The intro alone is better than anything modern shooters could achieve, and the game is at least on par with the CoD: Modern Warfare series! It’s basically Red Dawn the videogame, and I LOVE it! BETTER DEAD THAN RED!

One of the best send-offs towards Red Dawn, of the red army invasion of the US, and as the protagonist, who was a simple plumber(no, not the moustached plumber) turned into the Freedom Phantom and fights relentlessly to liberate his home country. Each level, inspired by the 2003 New York, has its own objectives, which you can complete in any order, or just raise the flag to claim victory of the level, and objectives will tick on their own. The map design gives you different approaches towards the objective, and usually a passage to bypass the red-army defenses and flank them easily. Each "Stage" of the game has from 2 to 4 or 5 maps, on which if you listen carefully to the briefing, it gives you a hint on to which should you attack first, so that the next would be easier to finish. (For example, to blow a bridge on one map, makes a helicopter appear to intercept you, but if you first finish the mission on the map that has the helipad and destroy it first, the helicopter will not app...
