About This Game

You and your fellow prisoner are trapped in the realm of Castle Rock - were you betrayed, or simply not that clever? To escape, you must explore the sinister castle for puzzles and plot your escape together. Secrets and riddles are hidden in the shadows. Just be aware that nothing is what it seems in this mysterious Antarctic adventure. Can you two escape together, or will you be trapped… forever?

Locked up in the dungeons, deep in the bowels of Castle Rock, you and a fellow prisoner must seek a way out and return to stand again beneath the icy Antarctic skies - but escaping this nightmare will not be so easy, let alone escaping the castle itself. Freeing yourselves from your cells and escaping the Keep is only the beginning - but does one truly escape Castle Rock? Fresh mysteries await, and you’ll have to make some choices about how to proceed. Your journey leads from the dark prison through the royal halls to the outside. Outside the Keep, you will discover the story of Rockbury, it’s inhabitants, and plans of a resistance formed against the King to escape this icy place. Hope will lead you on to an eerie Graveyard and have you descend down into the dark waters of the Foundry.

You two have been brought here for a purpose. You might even be the missing piece of a puzzle set in motion long ago, in a time long forgotten. But someone, or something, desperately seeks to solve that puzzle, by any means necessary. Only an unshakeable bond with your partner will give you any hope of survival in the face of such dreadful desire…

Does one truly escape Castle Rock?

The puzzles were confusing and nonsensical. I had to play through this game with my buddy Oliver, which made things even worse. The best part was when I drowned and it finally ended. 0/10

This game is buggy af and doesnt save frequently enough. I ended up soft locked on a puzzle and had to restart and lost like 45 mins of progress :/

Disappointing Entry in an Otherwise Solid Franchise As someone who really enjoyed the previous games in this series, this one was a huge letdown. The game was incredibly bugged — I constantly had to restart or reload checkpoints due to crashes or softlocks, which completely killed the momentum, especially while achievement hunting. Nothing like having to replay the same section three times because the game just... stops working. Cutscenes are another issue. They're overly long, unskippable, and honestly feel way too dramatic for what’s going on. It made the whole experience feel more like a chore than something I actually wanted to finish. There are brief moments where you can see the potential, but they're buried under technical issues and frustrating design choices. If you're a fan of the series, you might be better off skipping this one — it’s just not worth the hassle.

I've played this game three times with different people, years apart, and each time was an absolute joy. Yes, all three playthroughs had some critical bugs that forced us to reload checkpoints to progress :D but I still can't bring myself to leave a negative review. There are so few truly well-made co-op puzzle games on steam, and WWHF is definitely worth your time, especially if you enjoy yelling "what do you see on your side?!" at your friends)

Bro... are you freakin kidding me. It's one thing being a game full of content, it's an entirely different thing milking the shit out of the walking mechanics, the freakin levers, cut scenes into cut scenes. I bought the whole damn bundle like a clown. *Nay a jester* Im contemplating psychological help.
