About This Game

Explore A Forgotten Kingdom, Become Strong And Reclaim What You Lost.
Vast ruins were claimed by the sands centuries ago, filled with powerful artifacts. Venture into this kingdom's caves, riverways, fortresses, temples and giant mushroom in search of wealth, knowledge, and power.

Artifacts is an indie action adventure platformer set in a interconnected world. Gather upgrades that allow you to explore deeper and defeat the sleeping creatures below, because artifacts are lost on death and redispersed.

Features
A huge interconnected kingdom with 9 biomes.
Finely tuned 2D platforming. Collect many artifacts that allow for advanced and unique movement.
Open ended level design, go wherever, whenever you'd like (if you're up for it!).
Find over 50 unique artifacts by exploring every nook and cranny. Spirits that cause enemies souls to explode, serums that let your poison damage paralyze foes, and devastating magma cannons are around every corner.
Synergy-based action. Make the best of what you find, and create new powerful builds with each death.
A unique soundtrack enhances the atmosphere of Artifacts, with calm string-based area themes and intense rock and roll boss themes. Artifact's soundtrack was composed and recorded by Ben Johnson.
Powerful bosses with unique mechanics and rewards.

Its hard to exactly point out why youd want to recommend this game. The camera is extremely choppy in its movement and its clear as day that this game lacks some polish. But on the flipside once you figure out what is going on and more or less what you are trying to do it becomes very interesting after all and overall seems to be a very genuine product.

A very lovely little game I beat in about 5 hours. Certainly worth the price tag, though I got it on sale for a few cents. Some minor bugs and misspellings, but nothing that hindered my enjoyment of the game.

Fun game. It's super challenging, but it feels like you as a player aren't good enough as opposed to the game just being hard. It's a decent 2D platformer with fun combat.

This game is klunky. But if you can get past this, it's various design aspects feel well thought thru. Also the map is fun to explore, the characters are likealbe, and I liked the story alot. All in all, I thougth very little of this game at the start, but in the end I had completelywon me over. Definitely a very well hidden gem.

This game is completely weird. If you can stand the camera and controls you'll find something truly special. Very simple but extremely engaging. Sections such as the cannoneer royal shooting from above and then fleeing through the rooms make it really interesting. Backtracking after you got mobility options is also fun, with enough secrets and level skips to keep it healthy. It's charming but also has some annoying problems such as enemies that blend in with the backgrounds way too much, too many particles at a time that block your entire view and the uncustomizability of it all (luckly I got controller support by forcing steam input). For its price I expected something shorter and more boring but it can be challenging and mysterious enough to keep going back. Pure soul.

This game is a klunky mess. The visuals are so pixelated that it's difficult to tell what anything is. Controls are sloppy. Scrolling of the screen feels unstable for lack of a better descriptor. The mood and music is good though. Good thing I got it on sale.
