Forsaken Portals

The "Energy" drains so quick in this game, most of the ships lose 1% just doing a 180 in space. You will find yourself not within any range of any station to get fuel and end up "emergency calling" which takes 100 cash from you and literally removes everything from your inventory other than space dust. So everything you spent time on getting, is gone. I hit a spot where I needed to get to a portal, which was around 4000 AM away, my ship can't go farther than 1200 AM MAX, so I just kept running out of energy. There were no stations between the portal and myself other than a crafting facility that has no fueling capabilities for some strange reason. So you can buy a space station from there for a huge chuck of money, but now you can't place it unless you are 110 AM away from the facility. Well, I had 1% energy left, so I guess I gotta do emergency call again. Get warped back 1200 backwards instead of anything closer, fly almost to the crafting facility and then place down the space stat...

Warning: combat system is turnbased mess .. take for ever to do a combat round and it look really bad..... else the game is alla spaceranger style, wich i love this sort of space games... but the combat system ruined the game totally.. i asked for refund.. with this review i hope to save you from buying and asking for refund to..

I bought Forsaken Portals cheap on sale. During the first few hours of playing, I liked this game. I appreciate Indie games trying to do something different, and this looked like a casual version of the X series. But the further I got in the game, the more apparent it became that this store page is riddled with deceptions. For that reason, I do not recommend the game. It should have been honest about what it is - a battle card game with the theme of a space simulator. Instead, it hypes up game play elements that do not exist: 1) The universe is not "huge." There are a few, sequentially unlocked space sectors with a clear, one-way direction through. 2) You don't "build your own space stations", you buy 1 of 2 prefab options and decide where to plop it down. 3) Upgrading your ship is not how you defeat "the strongest enemies in the galaxy." For that you have to upgrade your card deck, which is not specific to your ships. 4) You will not "build a trading empire.' Prices do not fluctua...

Fun game so far! Travelling doesn't take too much time imo and there is even some hidden content on the map for those who like to explore it. Crafting as well as gathering resources doesn't take too long. All in all feels like a solid game.
