You know, this game's actually pretty good. Honestly, I read the other reviews and I almost expected not to like this, but I'm glad I gave it a… Shot ;) Best part is trying desperately to dodge the spears getting hauled at you from all sides, and just, not being able to hit a single thing (imma need a lot of practice, lol) EDIT: They fixed some stuff I complained about, cool.

While I like the cell shaded artistic style of this game, I almost have to wonder if too much time was spent on the superficial than the core game mechanics. First, and I know it's stated to be in a "future plans", but I'll say it anyway. This is 2020, don't release a bow game with only one hand supported, not even to EA.. Just don't do it. Second, if you are going to make a bow game in such a packed space, at least get the bow mechanics down first. I love bow titles, and have probably played all of them to date. This one, however, is the first where I felt that the bow action was completely lifeless. It looks decent, but it feels terrible, from the odd pixie dust emitting bolt physics to the draw, drop, and sadly, impact. In the theme of feeling lifeless there is absolutely nothing satisfying about actually hitting your target. If it didn't flash red or fall over dead, you might not even notice that you had hit it at all in fact. The arrows just fly off as if they are in their own ant...
I had my doubts about this game at first, but after trying it out i must say, i enjoyed it. The bow feels really good, and getting that headshot from miles away is so satisfying! There is room for improvement however and a couple of bugs, but luckily none that are game breaking. Get this game if you are bored and really need something to play. I would like to see some ladder board to see how well i did compared to other players.
Tyrgard is the best archery VR game I have played so far. Especially the graphic of the figures is very detailed which make you even love your enemies over time. For me it gave a good VR experience. It is not too easy but can for sure also be played as a party game. During the game you can choose your power ups/abilities which is a nice feature. Some enemies shoot at you, so the game also brings an element of motion, as you have to duck so you do not get hit. If it's too easy at the beginning just hit the bell again to start a second wave (or more😊) at the same time. There was no lag in the game at all. I played on I5 8400, 16 GB Ram, RTX1070, Oculus headset. The game can still be improved with a global leaderboard and left hand support but overall it is a cool game there for sure will bring a lot of fun.
=> UPDATE Devs have been proactive at fixing the issues listed and the game feels good! Will expand my review after playing it more. => OLD Review The game has a cool concept, but it is buggy and feels unfinished. FIXED: - The bow mechanics are not satisfying. It feel fake and the constant vibration when you pull the string is annoying. There is NO hit animation, targets just turn red for a moment. The bow on the Valve demo form 2016 feels much better. - FIXED: Unplayable with Index controllers. Arrows randomly fire while the trigger is fully depressed. FIXED: - Explosion look 2D and fake. There is no animation when you his something with it. - Nothing groundbreaking about this game.
Tyrgard Archer VR is virtual reality and wave based combat done right. Everything from the graphics of characters/enemies to the ability and power-up selection is done brilliantly. The interaction in-game is very fun as ducking and bobbing your head around is a vital part of avoiding projectiles from certain enemies. This intuitiveness provides a great experience and really makes you feel immersed within the game. All in all, for a bargain of a price, this game encompasses beautiful virtual reality game mechanics with intuitive game-play making for a great experience.
A cheap price for a few hours of fun. Authentic mechanics when operating the bow and arrow. It is a little tricky to hit the moving targets so there is room for improvement concerning the technique. The visuals are great and I would for sure recommend this game to anyone, who enjoys playing games in VR.
So much fun! The bow feels really good, and the enemies are really cool! Also the artstyle is real cool and the atmosphere of the game is really well done.
I really liked the game and its simplicity. Really easy to get into the action fast.
This game is awesome! Fun graphics, fun gameplay, You can clearly feel yourself getting better and better the more you practice, and the upgrades for the bow is a nice touch. There is a good balance between when to charge the bow and when to do quick arrow barrages. Would definitely recommend this game.
