About This Game

Thief Simulator 2 will transport you to a world full of valuables, expensive cars, and rustling banknotes. As long as you find a way to steal them.
Know that a thief’s trade is not a piece of cake. In order to get some practice, you’ll start with petty theft. This is how you’ll gain the experience required to access more and more risky – and most importantly, more profitable – jobs.

Gain levels and unlock new possibilities. Get useful tools. Together with newly acquired skills, they will pave the way to expensive items, which you can then sell on the black market. The tools of your trade include a crowbar and binoculars, as well as advanced equipment that becomes available as you progress, such as a laptop for hacking through security systems.

The creators of Thief Simulator 2 have prepared two unique locations with houses, banks, restaurants, and other special places that you’ll get to strip of money, valuables, and other items. But before you do, examine the surroundings: find out when the building empties out, learn the tenants’ or the employees’ schedule. Then you just need to prepare a strategy and it’s gone time.

Just be quick and efficient. You don’t have much time, so you’ll need to immediately assess which item to take and which one to leave. Can you handle the pressure, or will you panic?

Make sure to work on cars between robbing buildings. Start with small family sedans and make gradual steps towards mastery, which will allow you to steal the coolest sports cars.

Remember to keep your eyes around your head. Even the best plan can fall apart, and the local police are just waiting for a chance to put you in handcuffs. Don’t get caught. Always be one step ahead of law enforcement.

Feature list
 • Two neighborhoods, with over 20 houses to break into. Learn tenant's routines, pick the right time to break in, and then rob them
 • Three heists, each with a unique location. Make your way into a resort with 6 houses full of loot, a warehouse crawling with guards, and a central bank with gold waiting to be snatched from the vault.
 • Get better and better tools, ranging from a crowbar or binoculars to hacking laptops, stethoscopes, etc.
 • Make your way into houses undetected, or run in welding a baton and knock everyone out. Alternatively, put them to sleep using sleeping gas or a tranquilizer gun. The choice is up to you.
 • Payphone missions - rob certain locations in a specified amount of time
 • Over 15 contracts requiring you to steal unique items
 • Level up your thief and acquire new skills, which allow a number of new possibilities. Learn special skills, and activate unique abilities.
 • Escape the police - intense chases with police cars and helicopters. Be careful to not get shot.
 • Upgrade your car, change its color, give it more power - or just buy a sports car and be no match for the police.
 • Steal cars - begin with a small, family sedan, and work your way up to a sport's dream car

Very raw, and unpolished game, still buggy in 2025, good concept but very lazy implementation.

I played a lot of Thief Simulator 1 and when I moved to 2 I was quite disappointed to find that you no longer had your warehouse for displaying all your goods and hanging guitars on the wall like you could. Now it's just all into a bottomless locker in the closet. If i'm wrong about this and I just haven't unlocked something, I would love to be wrong so feel free to correct me and I'll reconsider my rating. I didn't realise myself that that was so important to me until I found I couldn't do it. Otherwise not much difference between the 2 games or any pros for trying TS2 over TS1.

Really enjoyed this game, kept everything I enjoyed about the first game and added enough new features to make it different. Excited for the DLC!

finally a realistic game that lets me experience the streets of Romania, without my car being dismantled after looking away for 10 seconds

Thief Simulator 2, or as I prefer to call it, Thief Simulator: Expanded and Enhanced. For me, excluding the story as that seems to actually be a continuation from the first Thief Simulators story, Thief Simulator 2 is the first Thief Simulator, but with new features, better quality graphics, and improved enhancements to many already existing features from the first Thief Simulator. Does that mean the games bad? No, in fact (although at the time of writing this review I'm only about halfway through the story), I personally found Thief Simulator 2 to be more enjoyable than the first. In conclusion, this game is good, but if you have an interest in the story, play the first Thief Simulator first, so you have an idea of why Thief Simulator 2's Story starts the way it does.

Fun game, lacks polish to the extent that it becomes frustrating. Very much the type of game that gets in its own way.

I want to like this game but the detection system is absolutely terrible. Why does the police get called when you hit someone, hit a dog or ring a bell too many times? How do they even know who to look for? Why do they shoot at a thief? Why does my character seize movement when a civ with a bat appears??? Who cares? Make a run for it, what do I care if they saw me? Why does everyone have a phone with 911 speed dial in their brain including dogs and inanimate objects like windows and doors? Seriously, what is this hair trigger detection system? Yes it's a game, there should be consequences but this is terrible, not fun at all. Of course it has to be some unity dump.

This game is nice and usually fun to play — but it also have some quite noticable flaws.

For starters, I usually don't like lockpicking in Oblivion, but in this game (as well as in the first part) they actually managed to make it fun. Now pins resist to go to they target position, but then they reach it, you have quite enough time to click. Plus, here is nice (I would even say, palpable) 3D cutaway model of the lock. Really well done!
Next, information about tenants' schedules became much more nuanced, you can see not only if they at home or not, but when they sleep or in which rooms they supposed to be in specific time. Here even special "planning mode" which shows their routes for nearby future.
Speaking of new tools, now you have drone, which can be used to disabling cameras and reconnaissance. I am huge fun of flying in games, and approve it. You also finally can knock out these pesky guards. :) Interesting idea...
