The fond memories I have of this old game! I was ten years old and my dad bought me the shareware version (the first episode) on 3-1/2" floppy. I was more impressed by the graphical panache of [i]Raptor: Call of the Shadows[/i], which I saw one of the tubby computer nerds playing that day in the small town shop . . . but, alas, I could only run the homely [i]Crystal Caves[/i]! Turns out, my cruder-looking platformer was the better experience (and hillbilly hackers are always [b]GrafX Wh0res[/b]). For anybody not steeped in the era, I'd say that [i]Crystal Caves HD[/i] is still a good buy -- if you're looking for bite-sized, well-designed levels to get through action game [i]withdrawal[/i] (that's me for real, but I [i]am[/i] so steeped!), or if you are a diehard platformer aficionado wanting a little piece of everything that's out there (and especially the historical stuff). great platformer, sometimes tricky but the difficulty is in the not impossible but very satisfying when u complete it spot, controls are just perfect
