Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) Returning to the Mass Effect trilogy after more than 13 years was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in video games. The first game introduces a massive universe, memorable characters, and moral dilemmas that shape the entire saga. It’s a magnificent introduction that sets the tone and depth for everything that follows. The second game is the series’ peak: refined gameplay, an engaging narrative, and deep emotional connections with every team member. Every choice feels meaningful, and the immersion is incredible. The third game brings the trilogy to an epic conclusion, resolving conflicts and delivering emotional endings for the characters and the galaxy. I even cried at the ending, such was the emotional impact of the finale. This trilogy combines exploration, impactful decisions, unforgettable characters, and truly moving moments. More than just action or RPG, Mass Effect is a unique narrative experience that every gamer shoul...
The game is unplayable because the EA app (which you need to launch it) has become nonfunctional. You can't even get to the title screen, the game simply does not boot. I've been trying to fix this for several months. I'm very disappointed, it was a waste of money, Steam should not be selling the game right now given that. Purchase it for console instead.
EA's garbage spyware app is forced on your computer to play a product you already paid for on Steam. If I wanted to use the EA app, I would have bought the game on the EA app.
ME1: The game is and feels dated, but in a retro, enjoyable way where it’s not a broken mess, but an actual enjoyable game. It’s got some decent rudimentary gameplay, and the guns felt kind of samey, with the biggest difference being stat checking between them, making for a rather boring selection. The more unique ammo system that relies upon a heat meter instead of having to grovel to pick up ammo felt nice and refreshing, and I was sad to see it go in later versions of the game, where in turn they overload you with ammo laying around to the point you might as well have an unlimited amount. The story feels like it’s solid and self-contained, and even if you were to only play ME1, you’d have a well-rounded story experience. Main story missions are good and paced well, but there is not much side content, and the planet exploration feels kind of hollow and didn’t appeal to me much. Overall, a solid game that holds up surprisingly well and, in its simplicity, can be very enjo...
This is a fantastic trilogy and the remastered version is a great way to get them all together at once. I'm giving it a thumbs down for two main reasons, though. First off, you can't download the games separately. You have to have all three games downloaded at all times. The second, bigger reason, is that you have to be online to play this famously single player experience. If you lose your internet then you lose your "privilege" to play this game you have purchased. Edit: Third reason to downvote, despite having to always be online they removed the multiplayer mode from ME3. Was really hoping to play that again.
I went through every EA game, and removed all from my wishlist, so that this will be my last EA purchase. that should summarize what I dislike about the game: the DRM store that you must install, to play this steam game. it forces you to link it to your steam account, and it (EA App) must be installed and must be running, for you to play. every time i launch the game, most of the time I am waiting for the EA DRM app to load... then the game loads near instantly. Loads of reviews state that the EA App cache or something gets corrupted and the games purchased on steam are no longer authorized by the app, and that EA won't help. I don't look forward to that in the future. ME LE is amazing. One of the best games of all time. Very easy to get used to the controls and the training missions do a good job of gradually introducing you to not only these controls, but also to the lore. lot's of story depth and eye candy.
Camera constantly spins and it's lagging an ungodly amount. Great games, but EA and their developers are worthless.
The games themselves are great but EA's bologna launcher, and having to have an internet connection to play a single player game just sours the entire experience.
i played Starfield when it came out, which left me itching to play a space RPG that wasn't shit from a butt. so i FINALLY played the Mass Effect trilogy, and it was everything I was looking for in a story driven RPG set in space. and whenever I get the Mass Effect itch, i can easily end up playing through the entire trilogy 2 or 3 times over before I put it back down for awhile. boy howdy
