About This Game

Previously $5.00, the price has been reduced 80% to $0.99!

The anti-strategy game for unconventional humans.

Grand Attrition is an RTS/tower defense survival game with RPG elements that boasts innovative game mechanics where you can take control of everything in battles, from map terrain to enemy units. Combine a wide variety of playable units, side grades, and talents to ensure no battle is the same.

Defend!

  • Summon a mosh pit of unique and balanced units to defend your starter unit.
  • Construct bases for your troops by claiming terrain tiles and building walls with different strengths and effects.
  • Pause the game and order your units around during stopped time! We don’t judge.

Offend!

  • Attack fortresses and plunder their treasure.
  • Side grade your units in order to preemptively cause plagues and mass vampirism.
  • Summon powerful guardian units to massacre enemy troops before they can even reach your base.

Anticonventionalism!

  • Don’t have laborers to gather resources for you? No problem! Just click any resources you find into submission.
  • Click enemy units until they convert to your team, or just click them to death as well.
  • Use special walls to spread map terrain all over the world. Your enemies cannot reach you if there’s a sea of lava in the way.

Oh gosh, what?

  • Blood moons dump nasty creatures onto the field who don’t discriminate.
  • DO NOT send any units past the map border. DO NOT.
  • Be careful of any talent points you pick up, champ!

Invest in chaos!

  • Crank up different setting to make the game more difficult, increasing your score, which increases how many talent points you get.
  • Use talent points to radically change how you play the game; invest in talents which cause friendly units to reflect projectiles, enemy conversion chain gangs, the unit singularity, gnomes to expel from corpses, and much more.

Fun free-form strategy game that doesn't lock you into one form of playing the game. A good way to pass the time with plenty of features to experiment with. The game has great potential and plenty of room for improvisation and improvement.

Okay, I'm not a big review writer but I found this game and thought I'd give it a go. Things I liked: Over all this isn't too bad for a cheap indie game. All of the units (Normal, special, or otherwise) are actually unique with their own functions and purposes, which was rather nice. Map size goes from small to rather absurdly large. Honestly most of the standard stuff is par for the course but the things I really enjoyed are the Side-grades, the forts, the special units, and most importantly, the Talents. The side grades are all just that, sidegrades, they really change up how you can tackle a game and once I figured out that I could do that to the unit spawning buildings it really helped. The forts are these “Structures that contain “loot” that can be very beneficial for the rest of your current run. Then the special units, Some of them are spawnable units that cost a lot of resources but they all do different things aside from just attacking whats ever in front of them....

The graphics made me want to kill myself. The gameplay made me want to live. Gets good around difficulty 4 or 5, but before then is kind of meh. The best strategy is to turtle after difficulty 8. Gnomes get stupid tiny and can skullfuck your entire army. Wizards need to be nerfed. They can crap out 100000 magic buzz saws every second and are only stopped by barbarians. The inter-unit combat and boner dilating playstyle customization make the game worth it. Needs more content. Wait for a sale.
