About This Game

Achilles: Legends Untold is a brutal action RPG that connects punishing souls-like combat with rich ARPG progression, set in the war-torn lands of Ancient Greece.

You are Achilles - hero of legend, struck down at Troy and cast into Tartarus. Gifted with a second life not by mercy, but design, you claw your way back from the underworld to discover who brought you back - and why.

Cut your way through legions of corrupted warriors, hunt monstrous beasts of legend, and clash with heroes twisted by ambition. Master precise, stamina-based combat, wield divine powers, and carve your new legend into the bones of ancient Greece.

This time, the legend of Achilles is yours to tell.

FIGHT LIKE A GOD. DIE LIKE A MORTAL

Every battle is a test of nerve and skill. Manage stamina, time every dodge, block, and strike, and turn the tide with divine abilities. Equip a set of powerful special attacks, craft a handful of grenades from gathered ingredients, and charge into battle.

One perfect counter can slay a god. One misstep could send you back to Tartarus.

FORGE YOUR OWN MYTH

Shape Achilles to match your playstyle. Select your ideal weapon, from a one-handed sword and an axe in the other, to the might of two-handed swords. Customize your build through a constellation-shaped skill tree and gear upgrades that enhance every strike.

This is your legend - the gods just haven’t heard it yet.

CLASH WITH LEGENDS

Duel iconic warriors like Paris and Hector in tense one-on-one encounters, each demanding precision and nerve. Hunt monsters drawn from myth, survive ambushes, and overcome boss fights that test your reflexes and resolve.

EXPLORE ANCIENT GREECE

Explore meticulously handcrafted realm inspired by Greek myths. From the smoldering ruins of Troy to sun-scorched fields, haunted temples, and forgotten rifts of the underworld - every location holds secrets, side quests, and enemies pulled from ancient legend.

ENEMIES THAT THINK - AND HUNT TOGETHER

Forget mindless mobs. In Achilles, your enemies work together. The GAIA (Group AI Action) system makes them flank, bait, and adapt to your tactics, often making use of their environment.

You’re not just fighting cannon fodder - you’re outwitting foes who want you dead.

Not a good game. Some interesting theming, story stuff, leveling, and equipment but the combat is god awful. Dark Souls-ish but poorly executed. Camera is awkward, attack animations are weird and don't look right. Enemy lock-on is very annoying to get to the right guy, seemed I was constantly focused on the wrong guy and attacking in the wrong direction. I did play through the whole game so it didn't frustrate me to the point of quitting but I came very close.

I found the game very boring. The story is bland, the characters have no depth, the dialogue is terrible and the voice acting worse. The combat gameplay is the best part, despite it being not satisfying as it seems from the trailer. The combat is too easy, the skill tree is fake, as 90% of the "skills" are just adding 1 millimeter to your health/stamina bar and 90% of the rest are passive skills that yiu do not really feel in combat. I finished it to convince myself I did not throw money away, but I now realized I threw away money and time.

Constant crashes during level transitions destroy all fun you can get from the game. Enjoy crashing after a lengthy battle in rifts making you redo them from the start.

Serviceable. That's the best way I can describe this. It works as a serviceable Souls-like (dodge roll and stamina meter) in an isometric perspective. Attack animations from both you and the enemy feel a bit too slow, and getting stunlocked is a real possibility when you run up against larger groups of enemies. The visuals are nice, but I read in another comment stated they were all reused assets, so not sure where I stand on that. The sound production is all over the place. Sound effects are decent, and the voice acting is just...there. Achilles' VA tried to go for a raspy, edgy voice, but it's really just cringeworthy. NPC's acting is not great either. The lock on is horrendous, twitching between enemies on occasion, and when you kill an enemy, it will immediately auto-lock onto another enemy, and more than once it had locked onto an enemy on the other side of the screen, not even engaged in the current fight. I guess it's worth it on discount, but I don't know if I'll pick it back...

I wish more arpgs took this focused combat approach over the mindlessly clicking the mouse to obliterate hordes. I really enjoyed the combat and different play styles with the all weapons and shields. The game ran really good on my rog ally. I hope a sequel is coming taking this approach further.

At first, I had a hard time getting into the game. I started it once, then put it aside. Now I picked it up again and it really drew me in. Achilles Legends Untold is an ARPG with Souls-like elements such as a bonfire, and when you die you have to recover your lost souls. The combat feels fast and solid, the enemy designs look good, and the different enemy types are distinct. However, there could be a bit more variety among them. Now to the most important part of an ARPG: the loot. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to expect here. Weapons come with different rarities, and the rarer they are the more damage they do. Anyone hoping for unique modifiers that significantly change gameplay will be disappointed. Leveling up also doesn’t feel very rewarding, since you usually only get +1 to an attribute and only rarely unlock a skill that meaningfully changes your playstyle. The game is carried much more by its combat flow and story. The story ties into the Trojan War, so fans of Greek myt...

Fun game, easy to play and get into. Some issues: -Upgrade system is pointless because upgrade costs are high so you're gonna just upgrade one, maybe two weapons whole game long -The game is easy, halfway through it gets so easy I stopped using healing potions, with a skill that regenerates health on kill and health regeneration amulet, plus dumb af enemy AI there is no need to use potions. Nor grenades nor any other items I literally didn't even try. -Status effects like burn are kinda ok early on but their strength doesn't scale, so if they take 10 hp points per second early game they take same amount late game so setting enemies on fire or poisoning etc. becomes pointless as enemy hp goes up but status effect damage does not. But I had fun, so whatever. Buy it on sale, if in doubt.

A Forgettable Experience: There’s nothing wrong with this game, per se—but there’s also nothing that makes it stand out. It sits firmly in the middle of the road: competent in some areas, underwhelming in others, and ultimately forgettable. One of the stronger aspects is the weapon variety: Spears, Swords, 2H, Axes, and Shields. There are a lot of options, and each one does feel distinct, which is great at first. I picked sword and shield early on—mostly because without a throwing weapon, you actually miss out on hitting certain collectibles. That choice locked me in for the rest of the game, because upgrading any weapon takes so much effort (GOLD) that it’s not really worth experimenting. I stuck with a blue (rare) sword almost the entire game, only switching to a mythic (orange) one right near the end. And honestly? You’d be fine using a blue the whole way through. Unfortunately, weapon skill and spell variety is pretty limited, so you'll committed to a style and...

No other way to put it, cheap indie garbage. The enemies are laughable and just way to easy. The combat is terrible, animations are slow and clumsy, and the whole thing just feels bad. They throw a bunch of enemies at you and you have stamina bars and other nonsense. O course you have the dodge roll that is slower than molasses uphill. The controls are so backwards from a real game. I'll give the devs a clue, right trigger and right bumper are not default combat controls. It shows they never played an action game or their own game for that matter. The shield, o boy the shield. You can click to throw it and then you have to click to bring it back. No one on earth thinks that is how a flying shield works especially in this game of hack and slash. Any how this game wasn't worth this text and you'll see if free somewhere very soon.
