About This Game

Burning with anger, THE GIRL wages a one-woman war against THE CULT, taking them down cultist by cultist, bullet by bullet, until she reaches her true target: THE LEADER. Along the way she will unravel the dark truth about this mysterious order and the atrocities committed by them in the name of their master.

In this tactical third-person puzzle-shooter you assume control of one bullet, guiding it through increasingly complex and challenging levels to kill cultists, trigger traps, and reshape the environment. Every shot counts and ruthless precision is rewarded. Taking down THE CULT is deeply satisfying; doing it with style even more so.

PLAN YOUR APPROACH

Tactical sniping, puzzle solving, and light stealth collide in Children of the Sun to create a third-person shooter like no other. You only have a single bullet to complete each level, but you can re-aim on impact, curve around obstacles, accelerate to break through armor, and more to really make that one crucial shot count.

RITUAL MURDER

Lose yourself in a dark, twisted tale of revenge as you hunt down the nefarious CULT. Children of the Sun accompanies its unique one-bullet action with an evocative, mystery-filled storyline that unravels as you exact your revenge on the people who made your life hell and relentlessly pursue the enigmatic LEADER.

KILL, KILL, AND KILL AGAIN

Children of the Sun is lethally replayable by design. There are multiple solutions to each level, encouraging creativity and experimentation, with a satisfying scoring system that rewards accuracy and efficiency. Then, you can check the online leaderboards to see how you stack up against your friends and the rest of the world.

Normally you would say ''Girl wtf just shoot twice'' but in this case shooting just once is so much more satisfying. Youre on your path to kill all the members of a sun cult i guess? And have to kill all enemies in the level with only one bullet, but the catch is you can deviate the bullet from its path slightly at first and in later levels do a 360 degree move. Its super satisfying to find that one little spot were you can slightly squeeze the bullet through and keep your shot going. Headshots feel extremley good, the looks amazing and has these crazy cutscenes which gives you a feeling youre in a horror movie which is awesome. Super fun puzzle game which takes about 5 hours to beat and complete all the challenges.

Of course, I love sniper games. It's definitely worth the money. The story is cool and the graphics are outstanding. The game mechanic with one bullet is a very cool idea. It was a lot of fun to achieve all the achievements.

I expected this to be a neat/unique sort of puzzle game, but I did not expect it to be as stylish as it is. It had a really cool grungy yet bombastic style, reminiscent of Killer7 in some ways? I like how it tells a story of minimalistic story through quick animated vignettes and the gameplay scenarios themselves too. The gameplay is fun and builds complexity upon itself at a good place, and it doesn't overstay it's welcome.

Very cool game. Its a really great idea to do effectively a puzzle shooter, and I think its executed very well. The little challenges for each level served nicely to extend the length of the game, and generally each level was pretty well crafted and interesting. Also its a lot of fun to use all the bullet powerups. It is a bit short and feels a bit one note, but I don't think it was really trying to accomplish anything greater than what it is.

Children of the Sun failed to capture me in the two and a half hours I played it for. I was drawn in by the flashy assassinations and intriguing art style / vibe, but bounced off the puzzle elements that never really clicked with me. You can dismiss this negative review as a skill issue if you want, but I think there are shortcomings in the game’s design that make its difficulty unduly arduous. Children of the Sun’s levels are essentially puzzles: you’re given only a single bullet to ricochet through a level and kill everyone (awesome premise by the way). Thanks to the generous time dilation there is very little mechanical skill involved, thus focussing the game on finding a solution to the level and then (optionally) refining it. What I think a lot of puzzle games I’ve enjoyed do is either constrain their problem space well, or have repeated attempts slowly lead you towards a solution, and the lack of either in this game is why I struggled. To take Portal as an example, it co...

I am utterly gobsmacked. The feeling of eureka that washed over me when I finally (FINALLY!!!) solved the intricate puzzle of the final level was beyond my ability to articulate it here. This is one of the most unique and original puzzle games I have played, and the various strategies needed to clear its levels have been swimming around in both my conscious and dreaming minds for the last two weeks or so as I picked my way through this incredible little masterwork. As is almost always the case, look to the little indie teams to see the most promising and interesting ideas in gaming. The rewards aren't always as bountiful as when you stumble across a Children of the Sun in a sale some time... but sometimes, once in awhile, the rewards are EXACTLY that bountiful. Chef's kiss, a thousand times over.

It's a great thing to be able to say: I wish it was longer.
