Cricket Captain 2020

Exactly the same as 19, don't waste your time or money on this garbage. No changes to match engine or animations, the game feels slow and lethargic, not even updated the grounds like Headingley, absolute joke and they have the audacity to charge people for this absolute garbage game. Even on very easy the game feels impossible to play realistically, players like Smith, Azam, Stokes and Kholi feel absolutely rubbish. Still no actual tactics in the game same old bullsh*t training that does nothing and we have no way of seeing how players develop (get better or worse). Added the "100" in the English domestic system but no real names so whats the point in that. People who are giving this game anything over a 1/10 are brain dead or bots. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP. Update: This game is still a waste of time.

It's Ok. Giving it a thumbs up because it's the best ball by ball simulator (as opposed to arcade game) out there It really has no right to be the best. It is slow, the UI is clunky the 3D match engine is an eyesore, the customisation options are fewer than the series had 22 years ago when International Cricket Captain first released. It has no meta game to speak of. Stats are still hobbled. Every few years a few more are revealed but a lot are not in the game. Ball by ball. In play. The actual match engine is pretty good. You can see turn, swing, bounce etc. (though the characters batting and bowling are so badly animated you have to divine this information from watching the ball - not the lego-faced players) There is no meta game to speak of, and this is where the game really show lack of progress. I finally decided to upgrade from the 2016 version but could not be more disappointed. The animations have not updated at all over the four years and so you see the same shots and dismissals. The only new animation I have been able to see is run outs at the non strikers end. This means if you play enough, you know what animations are out straight away. There is no way to see player stats and so this makes personalised training useless. Form means its pointless playing a one star bowler or batsmen even if they performed superbly in the last series. However this all pales next to the shocking ai. In ODI's you cannot ask your batsmen to score at over a run a ball as they will get out instantly. Instead players will only be able to hit at a strike rate over 100 if they are settled but this will take a crazy amount of time. Instead of 300 being the par which it seems to be in real life, your team will always struggle to 250 as batsmen just cant come in and play aggressively from the outset...

Cricket Captain 2020 is great. I can list pros and cons but at the end off the day I enjoy spending my free time playing the game.

This game has a special place in my heart because way back in 2004 or 2005 I used to play the demo version of International Cricket Caption. I vividly remember how only 2 test matches were available to play as England back then and ...I probably played this game for hundreds of hours even then. Yea, the demo version. I wasn't a very demanding kid. So anyway At that time I never expected the franchise to last till 2020 but here we are. I'm pretty happy with the game in its current form. Sure DRS would make it a lot more fun and I hope the developers add it in the coming years. Another thing I'd like to see is more field injuries. It'll make the game more realistic.

Best Cricket Management Game Out There

Its the same game as cricket captain 2001. With an updated database. And i really dont think there is any level of control you have over the game and the actions of the players in it. There is no variations, or life to the players or their skillset. Unplayable for more than 2 hrs at most.

Absolutely night and day between this one and 2019 version. Even on easy I get smashed by minnows who have 2 star rating versus a 5 star team. Loved the franchise but wasted my money on this. Glad i still have the one that is fun to play on my tablet.

Game is a mess. While the batting parting is realistic enough, the bowling innings are totally random, thus killing any interest for the game. NOT recommended.
