How we got here:
I began developing Nebula Within during one of the lowest seasons of my life to try to make sense of my experiences. In more ways than I can count, I was both looking to extract meaning from my circumstances and reassure myself that things could get better. My best friend, Alaric Qin, helped me a lot during that difficult time. I would later ask him to compose the music, which ( lucky for me and you ) he accepted.
What began as a personal project has grown organically over time, and it has personally helped me enough to consider sharing it with the world. My hope is that someone out there finds tranquility or the motivation to continue persevering through playing this game. It isn't perfect, but then again, nothing ever is. It can get a little tough at times, but so can life.

Wonderful game that captures your attention in many way. The music pulls you into the environment and the game itself is challenging and engaging. There is a large amount of heart in this game that is uncommon and rarely seen today. You're encouraged to keep going, take care of yourself and enjoy this thing called life. For a game to do that is certainly rare, and that's what makes this game a treasure. Fun to play as a dual stick shooter or on mouse and keyboard as well.

It's a wonderful game. I find it very nice for unwinding after a frustrating day of work or classes. One can get their fill of the game in about a 15 minute game session, though it's definitely a little longer than that, and feel refreshed and ready to reengage in the day's activities, enthusiastically.
The mental health portion of the game deals with negative thoughts that one might have on a particularly frustrating day. I find collecting the Mantras calming, almost serene, even with swarms of enemies closing in in waves.
Even players that aren't dealing with mental struggles during work or school will enjoy this twin-stick shooter style, geometry wars influenced game. I just find it particularly helpful as one who does get frustrated often and who turns to video games to unwind and relax. Even if you have all the Mantras and aren't searching for more good feels, there is an endless mode, with infinite lives and infinite enemies, where one can blast baddies to their heart's content. ...

With all the madness that's happening right now, this game is a breath of fresh air. I found the quotes and phrases I earned along the way to be genuinely encouraging and calming. As someone with anxiety and depression, it was nice to play through a game that left me feeling so uplifted. I'd recommend playing Nebula Within after a long or stressful day to help you wind down, meditate, and center yourself.
