About This Game

Take your seat behind the big executive desk and lead your studio to dominate the film industry. Or lead it to financial ruin. As the head of your own movie production studio you will have full control over its operations. Make smart decisions, and smart connections, and prove that you are the business savant you always claimed to be.

Tinseltown Tycoon is a management and simulation game that puts you in charge of a small, unimportant film production studio. With few assets and no reputation to rely on it will be up to you to produce quality films while generating profits in order to raise your studio out of obscurity. As the studio head it falls on you to:

  • Develop and refine scripts that can later be used in your movies
  • Find and hire the best actors and directors for your productions
  • Strike distribution deals to release your films in theaters, on streaming services, and on television
  • Hire staff to improve the quality of your productions
  • Acquire film rights to existing stories and news events
  • Manage crew and filming locations to fit the needs of your project
  • Secure financing to help cover your production costs
  • Seek awards for your movies
  • React to news events that affect the popularity of certain genres
  • Network with other people in the industry to find opportunities that might not otherwise be available to you
  • Manage your operating costs and cash flow
  • Compete with other, more established, studios in the industry
  • Deal with disagreements and conflicts between your employees
  • And more!

Game was fun but not being able to save is a no go for me. They need to get that fixed and when they do I will play again and then alter my review.

Until the creator actually puts out a patch I can't recommend this game. I refuse to ever recommend any game that wont let you do the most simple thing, which is save your progress. If and when the creator fixes this, then I might change my review.

While this game was addictive enough to keep me slogging for 5 hours straight, I will say that it lacks a lot of finesse. It has broken systems like the whole 'Promises' screen, and aside from that the box office statistics feel very random and not related to real issues or trends. The save button does not work. Which is obviously gamebreaking. And Generally the game lacks character. However, it is functional and never crashed once, which for small game devs is actually an impressive feat in its own right, and like Hollywood Mogul it has the potential for a lot of greatness. It would be good to get a better sense of it's model, talent pages, and really just an overall lot of work still needs to go into the game before it can be fully playable. Unsure why this game wasnt on Early Access instead of being marketed as a full finished release.

If you're looking for a simple, fun movie production game, then I'd say go and buy this. It seems like there are a few updates needed, mainly there seems to be a glitch that when you put movies in theatres, you don't get the 70%, just the initial funding. There are a few other issues that need fixing, but I'm enjoying it so far!

This game is fun. Not sure why it has any bad reviews. It is cool starting your studio and trying to develop hits. Hoping they add more content in the future. Would be nice to hire camera and sound crews like you can hire directors. maybe purchase more stuff on your set to make your movies better. Maybe purchase offices for your writers to make them write better.

Great Movie Studio Tycoon game. Does a great job creating movies and with the business/distribution side. A very enjoyable and addictive game. The game never crashed, but it does have an issue with Saved games. If you save relatively early in the game you can reload it no problem. If you save later in the game (after 8 years or so) it won't re-load your game. It's a big issue, but the developer has done a great job making the game, and it is well worth the money.

Fun game, really enjoying it. A couple of tweaks would make it more fun like naming the films they are quite generic and are are often repeated like if you buy a script I get it but renaming bought scripts and when you develop your own it would be cool to name your own projects. That's a little thing that would help my gaming experience and I'd love there to be other awards other then what they have instead of the oscars. Maybe the games own golden raspberries. would be a nice tough. Certainly could be better but overall a good little game. So...it appears you can't more then one save file and I can't delete the save file in game. I was playing a quick test game and now I want to start again and do some things I've thought of but I start new game and loads up the one I was playing and I can't delete. Really?

Great game, simple but everything works. You can sink hours into and just chill with it. Has a clear UI. Look forward to an update maybe with a 1950 Cinema theme.

If you're looking for a game you can lose hours to get this. The UI is self explanatory and the game play flows beautifully

The game is dead. And it has a lot of issues. Why do I have to wait for a year to get my movie released every single time?
