I don't know why this game is released. Its not finished enough to be played comfortably. This game has potential. It would be cool if they could work out some kinks. First of all, there's NO tutorial at all. This is a thing with games now for some reason. You go into it and the devs must just expect you to know everything or be able to figure it out. Most people don't want to fumble around for 20 minutes trying to figure out basic game controls and interactions. Especially with a crafting game. Though, the crafting menu is pretty easy so they get a point for that. Its also easy to get materials by harvesting bushes for sticks, or chopping down trees with the axe. Your tools don't deplete at an alarming rate either. I love the main character. She is cute. When she jumps I can see her through her skirt though... You die extremely easily. And for no reason. There is no way to get clean water to drink quickly or at all. Your thirst bar depletes at an extremely fast rate. To the point you...

bought the game played less then 20 mins learning the controls. Within that time while learning controls hit the edge of the world and then ended up under it as well. Game made me feel like i was playing in a now globe next to a painting minus the snow. Its a seriously small play area and the fighting controls are simplistic to the point of reminding me of a turn based game like Final fantasy 1 where the guy steps forward an slash slash slash and then back again. This game is alpha in its development stage at best
A fun and graphically beautiful Survival game for $5. I bought it for $2 when it was on sale. It deserves its price, it can be bought.
I always try to give games the benefit of doubt but this one just doesn't have what it takes - not as a released game. Open world - nope. The actual area is very small and limited to only a couple of notable places. I actually tried running to the edge of the world and once you leave the small initial area there is nothing. I ran into the invisible wall that marks the end of the world so I know I got to the end. You can't survive out there nor even build structures (not unless you want to ferry the materials out) because the necessary resources are not out there. Building a big house substantially outside the initial play area is probably the only way to make this game last more than one day. Crafting - nope. I go into these games looking for to build up on the technology tree. But there is no tree. There is an axe, a pickaxe and a hammer. No way to upgrade those. No better versions. No swords, no bows, nothing else that is a weapon. Also no armor. It is necessary to build...
First impressions review: The sense of discovery is good. It really gives the feeling of survival. The Druid tribe in the forest will attack you dangerously. When you get stronger, raid their base camps. The number of animals in nature is good but needs to be increased. For example, rabbit can be added. I built a big house for myself. I put things in it. The items you can craft are various but I think they will be increased with updates. Game sounds are successful. Ambient sounds in the forest are beautiful. The sounds of Druids, crows, wolves are fine. About Gretel also needs to be translated into different languages. It would be nice if the game supports multiple languages.
I love the fact that the character's hunger and thirst stats are not going down dramatically - like in some survival games - so you can explore the area rather than always searching for water and food. The crafting menu is pretty clear. The sound design makes you feel in the game's environment.
It is so relaxing and makes life feel a little easier after I have played. I would recommend this game as a fun way to chill out.
Worth the money if you like this type of games
The atmosphere is great, the nature is beautiful and there's a sense of accomplishment with progress in the game. Charming, cozy and often funny.
The perfect relaxing survival game.
