About This Game

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game set in the grimdark universe of the 41st Millennium. Pick your force, develop your army, field mighty heroes and fight for victory using superior strategy, awesome abilities, and devastating weaponry.

Age of Crimson Dawn

Experience an epic twenty mission single-player campaign that explores the aftermath of the Devasta-tion of Baal. Help Sergeant Carleon and his allies purge the Tyranid infestation on Baal Secundus, and preserve the honour of the noble Blood Angels.

Skirmish Mode

Fight across the surface of Baal on maps of your choosing in the Skirmish mode. Pick the faction you'll lead as well as the one you'll face. Completely customize your army list by selecting your units, heroes and their loadouts. It is available with three different types of Objective: Exterminatus, Conqueror and Strategic Command.

Planetary Supremacy Mode

Planetary Supremacy is a conquest-style skirmish campaign, introduced in a free update as part of our ever expanding plan for Battlesector, in which you, the player, decide the outcome.

Take command of your favourite faction and conquer the planet in a series of procedurally generated skirmish battles. To achieve victory, capture more tiles, acquire strategic resources and expand your army. Then, bring destruction to your enemies in Skirmish battles.

Daemonic Incursion

Daemonic Incursion is a single-player mode that is available to all Battlesector players as part of a free update that was launched alongside the Sisters of Battle Faction Pack. In Daemonic Incursion, waves of Khornate daemons enter realspace to spill blood, collect skulls and overrun your forces. This is a last-stand mode, in which your objective is simple: SURVIVE!

Forge Your Armies

Command iconic units like the Sanguinary Priest, the Librarian Dreadnought, and the Hive Tyrant to annihilate your foes. Use over 60 abilities and 50 weapons to orchestrate your opponent’s bloody de-mise.

Build Momentum

Each faction has a unique Momentum system that can result in a Surged unit. Units that Surge are able to string together superhuman chains of actions, or use the opportunity to further upgrade their abili-ties.

Call In Air Support

Use Command Points to call in faction-specific air support abilities. The Blood Angels Stormraven can obliterate xenos with a missile barrage, or deep strike a unit of veteran Assault Marines behind enemy lines. Meanwhile, the Tyranid Harpy can devastate the enemy defenses with its Sonic Screech, or scat-ter the battlefield with its deadly Spore Mines.

Face Your Friends On The Battlefield

With live and asynchronous multiplayer, and hotseat modes available, there’s no excuse not to take your friends to war.

Extremely uneven difficulty without the ability to change difficulty between missions. Infinitely spawning enemies. Obtuse skill descriptions. There are bonus objectives but you have no idea what they are. No thanks.

Epic game from WarHammer! I played through the First Campaign thinking I beat the game but... Surprise that was just the beginning!!! There are tons of campaigns with tons of different factions. Check it out, it is TOTALLY worth it!!!!!

I will admit the game was pretty barebones upon release, but over the years the devs have been cooking. They have added multiple free units and different game modes. This is probably one of the best tactical 40K games on the market at the moment. It also has the most detailed models of any 40K I have played so far. The dev team tried really hard to get the TT accurate look of the respective units. The campaigns are a lot of fun but I believe the game really shines in the "Crusade" game mode that was added. This game mode lets you play through mini mission sets where you can level up your troops as you go to give them bonuses. This is in addition to the normal command point upgrades you unlock through getting points as you progress. This can range from +100% attacks, + to accuracy, HP regen, movement, etc.... which can vastly change the way troops function. It is a ton of fun and has massive replayability as each subsection of missions can give you a different faction to play against...

The game is so-so. It has some great visuals and units very similar to the source material. However, the animations and the sound design are very stiff and lacks quality. The campaign and the planetary supremacy game mode are fun. The new crusade mode has potential. Maybe the devs can improve the quality in a potential next game.

+it has WASD camera control which is a massive WIN thank goodness +it has the ability to disable edge panning thank goodness +awesome variety of units and races after getting all dlc -has no mini map which is very painful and almost game breaking, but you can get over it -definitely outdated menu and UI which makes its DLC crazy over prices, but what can we do? -no way to change difficulty after starting campaign meaning full restart requires -poor save management system, just isn't user friendly i'd be very excited for battlesector 2

I really love this game and have 450 hours invested in it. I think it really covers the feel of the table top game play well with only two points of failure. The Crusade play feels unbalanced. Progressing through a battle , loosing units and having to replace them for the next battle seems to cost much less, if anything, for the computer opponent. The next match and they come out with full strong units when I have to wait for the cool down to replace some units. The big complaint is the over watch mechanics. So many times the enemy will draw out most or all of my over watch shots at weak or distracting units when I'd rather hold off on certain units. In live table top matches I can watch my opponent as he chooses his moves and decide to us my over watch or hold off to target a better enemy unit.

Great game. The gameplay loop is very addictive, like the tabletop version. Really enjoying it! Two points of criticism though. One - the shooting lasts for a long time, so when you have like 40 units running around in big battles and each unit takes like 5-10 seconds for the shooting animation, it can drag on. And the speed increase option for animations only applies to the movement and not the shooting. Two - some of the bonus missions in the Blood Angels campaign seem literally impossible on high difficulty (where you have to save units that are behind enemy lines). At least without cheesing or exploiting the AI. They just get wiped on turn one no matter what move you make with them.

Loved every part of this game. The setting/context (liberating a planet from Tyrannids), the graphics, the sound effects, the strategic and tactical depth, the variety of units and enemies and mission types, the Warhammer lore. In my own opinion and experience, this game is practically perfect.
