What a cool game! So as much as I hate comparing games because that's really not totally fair. If I were to boil this down, it's like Reign, but with a way more compelling story. Pros: The art style is great! I'm glad it's tagged as a visual novel, because that's essentially what you're getting. However, let me preface this by saying I don't like a lot of visual novels. This one is a bit more compelling than most. Gameplay is very much a swipe right or left mechanic to make your choices. Something I totally have zero experience on through dating apps. What? I don't! Okay but the "gameplay" is simple enough. Sometimes your choices are timed and I did feel like I had just barely enough time to read the prompt before I had to make a split second decision, but whatever. It's still good. Sound - The ambient sound and music is pretty solid! Nothing phenomenal, but it's enough to add plenty of atmosphere. Story - The main part of a visual novel. The story is really compelling. I get ...

About This Game

Unforgotten is a non-linear visual novel about mysticism, riddles, runes, rituals, and the winter forest. The game is based on the story of a small mining village hidden in the forest. In the center of events is a student of journalism who wants to learn the history of this place.
Due to the non-linear plot, it is possible to pass the game several times and learn new secrets and stories of the mining village.

So, who you really are? Are you just a city boy or a member of occult arcane ceremonies? Maybe you are a savior the girl you love, maybe you are a fearful student from the Faculty of Journalism. Secrets of the North and a host of cryptic riddles from a mining village are setting all over here. You are free to choose whatever path you wish keeping with simple opportunities – swipe left or right.
Main feature of visual novels is possible to take part in events that will shape the in-game role-play story. Everything that player will have done, every decision that player will have made can go to change the course of events. Sometimes the smallest things may play a significant role. In Unforgotten you are about to find out all puzzles, to be the part of arcane ceremonies and perform special tasks.

- Authentic and colorful characters, representing a collective of Northern indigenous people;
- A nonlinear storyline, a wide variety of unfolding events that affect the course of the game;
- The main character is a simple guy, feel yourself in his place;
- Interactive storytelling parts, mini-games, different quest;
- Unique soundtracks;
- An exciting final of the story which players create themselves.

Great game. Short, but definitely worth it. I love that there are multiple chapter points you can choose so you don't have to play through the whole story again in order to get to the different endings. There are some minor translation errors, but nothing too bothersome. It's very compelling. I would love to see more detail about the folklore involved. I felt like a lot of legends were referenced but not much was really explained, like it could all be chalked up to one cultish village and their weird traditions. If these references have a more historic root in Slavic tradition, as a slav by ancestry myself, I'd love to hear it. 7/10

I enjoyed the plethora of choices I could make and how they wove together to create the outcome. The atmosphere was great, I liked both the character visual designs and loved the music and background sound effects. There were however a few...
Well...short game with nice art. I still don't know how to get the "neutrality" save point, but except that i got all of save points and endings. The achievement will pop up after you close the game.
I recommend this game for the music and artwork. I really wanted to like the game itself; it seemed very interesting and the kind of game I would really enjoy. Maybe 1/4 through the game, the story referred to people, events, and objects that I had never come into contact with. Surely, from a different path. That made it confusing...and probably since I missed so many of these parts, the "intense" parts of the story I didn't feel invested in at all. I'm just thinking...why are we doing this again?
It's an okay game that mixes visual novel with choose-your-own adventure. It's mostly an interactive story. the story is okay, takes about one hour to play through one version and there are different outcomes depending on your choices. There is a real effort on writing, atmosphere, and quality of narration but at the same time the story is banal and predictable. I recomend it but only if you're not allergic to visual novels, and no more than a couple dollars
(follow my curator page GenXPlayers for more retro and indie reviews)
