I want to love this game. Silent Hill is one of my favorites, this game has a lot of direct inspiration. But it is just a slug of a game. Slow gameplay, a boring main character, and bad controls make for an experience that I just wish was so much more. I have tried to play this game twice now and I can no longer force myself to play this, it is just not fun.

Very solid game. Overall the gameplay and puzzles were fun, the story was intriguing, and the shifting between worlds was fantastic. But make sure you turn ray tracing off if you want a good framerate (there were moments where my framerate would inexplicably drop from 140+ to the 40s, and turning ray tracing off fixed it. game still looked great). I also experienced a little audio bug where it wouldn't play the audio after a load, but going into the settings and choosing the audio device fixed that issue. Those two annoyances aside, I absolutely recommend this game.

better buy it on sale cuz the price is way too high for a 10 hrs game with a rushed(?) ending. hdr implementation in this game is wack which is a shame, because this game is very beautiful.

I've seen the gameplay streamed by GabSmolders when it first came out (wouldn't know about this game otherwise) and I been dying to play it for myself since. I tried both keyboard and controller on PC, can't say that either one was better / worse. If you setup the key bindings to your comfort (I usually strand away from WASD in all of my games) then I'd say keyboard is not worse than a gamepad. Took me I think about 3 solid tries to complete the chase sequence a lot of people seem to get stuck on. The only place I really get stuck in is in the underground with the split screen where you can't hide anywhere, but otherwise I'd say the gameplay was smooth for me. I wasn't doing a speedrun or anything and took my time to try and find every piece of lore I can. The locked camera view is not the most intuitive, but it didn't bother me that much. The world and story is okay, but the controls & camera are bad to the point that it's not really enjoyable to play this.

story is well put together with a very promising ending. spooky and filled with atmosphere, if you like good horror games check it out

I don't usually play games like this, but I got this game as a gift for pre-ordering Cronos. Overall, I really liked the story. If you add a good combat system and regular monsters to this game, it would be a masterpiece for all time. Because everything else is really cool here. I would also like the ability to run everywhere, and not in certain places, because sometimes the gameplay seems drawn out. The feature with two worlds is just mind-blowing, it turns out that the atmosphere changes just by moving the player's eyes, I would like more of this with split screen. I really liked the graphics. The character models are not very good.

I bought this game when it first came out years ago, but completely forgot about as there was a lot of games I was playing at the time. When I pre-ordered their new game, Cronos, it pop up randomly in my library and I am glad it did. While the game does still have a few technical issues like random frame drops, it is still a very well made game and the story is enough to keep you playing and wanting to find out more. The graphics and settings are stunning. Overall I would give this game a 7/10 and would definitely still recommend it.
