I really wanted this game to be better than the Hunter COTW but the story missions are ridiculous and cringe-worthy and the game still feels like it's in early access weapon variety is poor and character development like perks are just not worth the effort the only positive is the graphics not recommended in this state

As someone who spent quite some time in Hunting Unlimited 2010 as a kid, this felt like a must-buy. I knew I wanted more challenge, but wasn't exactly sure what bits should be challenging in particular. So I got this game, went straight up on Ranger difficulty (turned out it was a right choice since hunter sense felt like cheating - it can do as much as calculating range and elevation for you, showing you a red dot where the bullet will hit) and sucked at hitting vitals at first, unwillingly mutilating poor deer, but as the hours passed by, I started to learn the animals' behavioral patterns, visual characteristics (so I don't accidentally pull an Anakin Skywalker on them and shoot some young specimens), specialties of ethical hunting and herd management, and all of this was a genuinely fun experience. Though this is technically a shooting game (I mean, you hunt animals with guns, sometimes bows/crossbows), it feels super relaxing and meditative, which is definitely something I was lac...

I like the game a lot, I like how you can affect the genetics of a population by choosing to cull less desired animals. The game is beautiful, and the hunting in general isn't difficult.

I started wondering why they needed to pay YouTubers to play this game. Then I started the "Story". One of the first mission is shooting a deer. With a gun that has an effective range below 100m. In a valley where the wind comes from your back. With deer who get spooked, regardless of what you do, from where you come from, and now sneaky you are. Once you reach <150m they fucking gun it. And they don't come back. But thats not a reason for a bad review? The game is just hard. The "game" does not allow fucking Coop until you are done. Guess what they PROMINENTLY showed in the YouTube Videos they had these guys produce. I honestly don't know what they expect? That I buy their shitty DLCs for new guns to actually hit something? Or tell them that they MIGHT have had a shot at this game if they ever actually stalked deer? And of course THQ Nordic. Should have known better than to buy from someone whos already scraping the bottom of the barrel. Fin. Returned. Garbage.

I've played a lot of Call of the Wild and this game takes the cake. Graphics are incredible. The quality of the firearms to the bows are on point. The sound of thunder in game is pretty terrifying if you got a nice headset on. 10/10 would recommend to buy.

OKay, So, I am not a target audience for this game. I am a citydweller. I have no knowledge of wildlife except pigeons. So for long time I was hesitant to leave a positive review. I do acnowledge things like hunting for food to survive, setting up a reserve for animals to exists and populate so you could get some extra "kitchen orders" for meat. Mindlesly killing everything that moves just to mount a head on empty wall space - now this is disgusting. Following the story game puts emphasis on proper hunting, but my completionist nature calls to exterminate life to fill all the taxidermy stands. In nutshell the game loop is pretty shallow. You find an animal presence, you check your journal, you pass the time until that animal time for feed\sleep\hydrate in area comes and you shoot the animal. Done. But... You can ..abstain from that and do things differently. Walk the wildland, listen to wildland. I have little progress in this game. I play on difficulty without hunter sense that just s...

If you've never hunted in real life, then Hunter: Call of the Wild, will with all it's assitence be of great help. Once you've learned or have had experience. Then Way of the Hunter is a large step up. Has to the N-th degree considerably less assitence. Meaning it's far more realistic.
