It's okay, nothing special. Doesn't have the charm of BfBB, the Movie game, or Creature from the Krusty Krab. It's a competent platformer that's definitely worth getting on sale though. I enjoyed it a lot in the beginning, but the more I played, the more I wanted it to be over. I've always loved the platformer Spongebob games, but this one was just kinda meh. Way too many collectables and the levels feel very linear. Idk how anyone could 100% this game lol, it would drive me nuts. However, there are many things I love about the game. Firstly, it keeps the formula simple and to the point, and I honestly respect that. It's refreshing to player a game that is 5-10 hours rather than the typical slogfest we get these days where every game needs to be at least 50 hours of pointless content. I miss games like these. Secondly, the graphics are gorgeous. They're not gonna eat up your GPU, and despite what other reviewers have said even as of recent, I have had no performance or frame drops ...

I lived in a pineapple under the sea.
I'm not voting this one down because it's a bad game in a vacuum. I would say for a AA game meant to appeal to kids, it's pretty good actually, even if it is a little short. If quick, spongey fun is all you want, then I actually do recommend this. It's funny and absolutely dripping with love for the Spongebob series, even managing to integrate a bunch of classic memes without being obnoxious about it. At first I was worried that Balloon Patrick following Spongebob around would be too weird, but the banter it enables is really fun, and given the wacky and creative levels, the whole talking balloon doesn't break the immersion whatsoever However, this game does not exist in a vacuum. The elephant in the room here is that this is a spiritual successor to Battle for Bikini Bottom, and it wears that connection on its sleeve. Unfortunately, the gameplay loop here fails to replicate what made the original so great. BfBB was a classic mascot collectathon, where progress was tied to collectin...

Amazing fun and cool about the show its amazing
great mechanics especially compared to the first installment/remake but the gameplay loop is very boring. it goes collect 5 socks then 4 lines of dialogue then collect 4 more socks then no dialogue and then collect 7 more socks and then level over. definitely not as much love poured into it as battle for bikini bottom. also takes some of the terrible aspects of modern spongebob with the zoomed in ugly face still photos and overdoing the popular gags. also the freeroam dialogue and your movement will cut out in the middle of someone talking with an automatic cutscene into the next part as soon as you get near the next mission. super jarring imo. i do like that they brought mr krabs' actual voice actor this time around. fun game but definitely wouldnt buy full price. hopefully the 3rd game isnt like this one either
Shorter than the first game but still a lot of fun.
After playing it shook up my world to cosmic proportion
.
Not nearly weird or relatable enough. It's for kids
