About This Game

"A letter to you" centers around a mysterious protagonist, suffering from amnesia and anxiety, without remembering who he is or how he got to the place where the action of the game takes place, respectively a huge and strange mansion.
A stranger man who leads him through the mansion tells him that a certain Mr. Evans has a letter for him.
Leaving aside the fact that he suffers from amnesia, the protagonist knows that he must read that letter.
As he peels back the layers of mystery, he begins to remember who he is and how he got to the mansion, thus discovering a terrifying truth, but one that he must accept.

Straight up I'd like to say that not a single screenshot displayed on the store page is actually in the game. Now that I've got that out of the way lets talk about the game. The game starts out where someone walks with you letting you know Mr. Evans has a letter for you. After that it goes downhill from there. The gameplay consists of 3 things: Unlock doors with keys, place photos on a board to make the objects in the picture appear in reality, and unlock 3 digit combinations. You don't really know where you are going or why you are doing anything. Just the fact that you need to keep unlocking doors to get to your final destination whatever that may be. There is zero story progression. The "creatures" in the game are not scary at all and they even threw in an ogre that looks like Shrek. I have no idea why. The ending.....will leave you very disappointed. The controls are also wonky in parts as to how to select items in your inventory and "use" them. One example: I couldn't...

Hard pass on this game for $17.99. I purchased it at $12.99 and started a YT series on it. The game was so glitchy you couldn't in progress in the game. So I would wait, they would fix it and it would break my save points. So I had to start the game over twice before I could even finish it. By the end, the game had been ruined for me because of how broken the game was. Once the game is done, there is absolutely zero reasons to ever play this game again. No replay value at all. They have since fixed the game, so if you're new, the game might be fun from start to finish with no issues. I would totally recommend this game at a price of $5 or less, but not for $18.

My favorite part of the game was smashing random things, especially the mega cantaloupe in the kitchen. The rest of the game was a glitchy disaster. Jumpscares were decent, ill give it that. The price point is horrendous for how little this game will give you in return. Check out my full playthrough gameplay HERE

So, its a nice little game but it need to be fixed. The monsters are not scary at all but it has some passable Jumpscares. For this Price - the game is ok.

Very buggy game where i cannot progress as the items needed to do so never appear in the game. Looked online for a solution and found out keys and other items needed to trigger events to progress are regularly disappearing. Also whenever i die my settings get reset to their default settings so i have to rebind my keys all over again as well as turn vsync back on etc. Too bad, looked like it had so much potential.

Not as terrible as the reviews make it out to be, but it is pretty bad. The game has a few decent jump scares and everyone is correct about the monster being stupid. It looks like some Orc from a dungeon crawling RPG. Some of the atmosphere is good at first but is ruined by the lack of sound effects and replays. The version I played has a candle that apparently never melts and a lighter that has 10 uses (using it once is enough for the entire game) while earlier versions seemed to have a lantern and kerosene. I did not experience glitches like other people mentioned except for the odd time of getting stuck in a piece of glass that I broke while throwing for fun. The melon in the kitchen is weird. This game is okay, short and not very scary but it is not the worst indie-horror game. Get it on sale, it is not worth $10+

Played on Linux using Proton Exp, Bought in a bundle with 4 Games for under £2.00 so i wasn't expecting much from these Games, But this Game was just a bug ridden mess, could not play for long as items from the inventory would just disappear, First the Candle needed for Light, Then a Picture needed to progress, At this point i just quit and uninstalled.

The game is good but not great. The jumpscares are decent, but the monsters aren't really scary themselves. I find the very short time (about 30 seconds) the oil lamp lasts per bottle of oil to be quite annoying, and I've found myself lost in pitch black darkness with no oil far too many times in a short period of time. And the fact you have to take a pill every 10 minutes or die is also quite annoying, especially since they are also quite scarce. A game like this is okay to play once, mainly for the scares, but the fact that in order to beat it, you pretty much have to start over from the beginning at least once when you're probably near the end (because you ran out of oil and/or pills) makes the game lose a lot of its intrigue. It becomes tedious trying to remember where things are, and the quickest route through places so dark you can't see without your lamp. I've purchased far better games for less, so I'd have to recommend holding onto t your hard-earned money on this one.

behold! my magical eternal candle, and in my right hand a key that works on everything (once) and a abandoned game around me to explore. the unfinished, janky and buggy nature of this game aside the idea of using pictures to change portions of the map is a great idea, but how its executed is really bad, from mostly only having one option per slot and the doors all being locked with keys that work on everything makes the progression feel empty, the scares from the random pots being thrown at you to the meat ball in a harness chasing you have no build up and no meaning making them a joke at most and more commonly a annoyance.
