About the Game

Misc Games, the creators of the highly-popular commercial fishing franchises Fishing: North Atlantic and Fishing: Barents Sea, proudly present their brand-new title: Ships At Sea. This exciting release introduces multiplayer co-op and competitive modes, delivering the dynamic gameplay experience fans have been eagerly awaiting.

Ships At Sea, the next generation of ship simulation, introduces service and cargo vessels for the first time. Build your career in service, cargo, or commercial fishing as you venture into the untamable Norwegian Sea. Join a company with your friends to collaborate on tasks and missions, share resources, or run your own company in the same session to compete against others in a shared multiplayer world.

In partnership with Nvidia, we are proud to introduce the cutting-edge WaveWorks water shader, which delivers a cinematic-quality ocean simulation. Complementing this, we've implemented a fully overhauled, physically based buoyancy system to ensure vessels of all sizes behave realistically on the water. To deepen player immersion, the dynamic weather system is built around two core components that work in harmony to bring the world to life. From rain and fog to lightning and storms, these elements create a vivid, ever-changing environment where no two journeys feel the same, adding realism and unpredictability to every maritime journey.

Above all, Ships At Sea takes a bold step forward by allowing players to explore authentically recreated harbors in Lofoten, Norway. Immerse yourself in the vibrant port life—visit shops to purchase tools and equipment, or stop by the shipyard to upgrade, maintain, and repair your vessels.

Building on the success of our previous games, Ships At Sea offers an atmospheric and highly realistic environment featuring accurate maps, licensed ships and equipment. With stunning graphics, the game delivers striking, immersive visuals, providing the ultimate ship simulation experience. Embark on this journey and claim your place as a master of the seas!

To ensure a fully engaging maritime experience, Ships At Sea incorporates advanced technologies to enhance gameplay quality. The game supports Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation and AMD FSR 3 & 4 Upscaling, boosting performance by generating new frames and improving FPS. Additionally, Intel® XeSS is supported, and color settings can be adjusted to accommodate players with color vision deficiencies.

Refunded for now, may buy again later. Basically I have 2 issues: 1) It doesn't look good. While it's pretty enough in still pictures, in reality the graphics are quite bad and very glitchy. I know this is a small budget game, but even still I expect better. 2) The ships don't feel like ships. I only tried the first vessel after the rowboat and it was awful, it controlled nothing like a real vessel. The momentum was lacking and rudder control felt off. For example, there was basically no rudder control when reversing. While that is true for real vessels at very low speeds, when you get some speed you should have some amount of control. Same when navigating forward and adding some throttle, there's just no rudder response you'd expect. When making a game that is all about ships. this should be your number one priority to get right.

I'm really enjoying the sim so far. It has a lot of potential. I just hope the developers continue to support and expand it in the coming years to turn it into a true masterpiece.

I like the game so far. A few things i would like to see changed to make it a gamechanger: AI traffic would add realism. Controller support for better handling (crane operating). In multiplayer it is still fun to play, but in Singleplayer it is getting boring quite soon. I know it is early acces, so i mean it in a positive way

Getting there! I first bought the game on initial EA release and it was completely unplayable HOWEVER I've redownloaded recently and am pleasantly surprised. It's not perfect, but the devs seem to be working extremely hard on it, and the main systems are now fixed so that it can actually be enjoyably played while watching the rest of the game come together around you. It's got so much potential, and even now it's a brilliant game to just relax on.

This is an entertaining ship simulator without a functioning or reasonably realistic charting system. Without a functioning charting and navigation system, this is just a bumping objects into other objects simulator. Entertaining for a minute, but not enjoyable for any length of time.
