About This Game

Horned Knight reintroduces the Golden Age of arcade gaming in a hardcore, retro-styled 2D action platformer that pulls no punches. Play as the hero knight, and use your sword to rid the castle of ghouls and undead lurking in the dark. Fitted with multiple levels, responsive controls, and puzzle-like combat, Horned Knight emboldens the player to conquer unique pixel art obstacles with the support of generous checkpoints and an invigorating soundtrack.

In Horned Knight, calculated movement and agility is key. One small misstep can lead to your demise through 32 pulse pounding levels, offering various challenges from fireball wielding skeletons to venomous snakes, spike traps, pools of lava, and much more!

Accessible and responsive controls make it easy to jump, air-dash, and slash your way through an area. Master the jumping wall climb technique and timed slashes to ensure your hero saves the greater realm!

Make sure to hold onto the knight’s heart pieces; his life depends on it! Overcome gigantic bosses and uncover secrets leading to unknown paths to find more heart pieces, so you can continue on your marvellous adventure. If your heart pieces deplete, it’s back to the last checkpoint for you to prove your worth, knight!

Just beat the second world of this game and I'm bored. The pixel art and controls of the game are pretty good but everything else is very run of the mill and by the numbers. I know this was only made by one person and I'm sure he put lots of work into it, but it's so tedious. Every level looks exactly the same, there are only 4 enemies I've seen so far, the music is bland and forgettable and the sound effects are the absolute worst I've ever heard. There are like four sounds in the whole game. Just inexcusable in 2021. If you compare this to Electronic Super Joy (another platformer made by one person) it just makes this seem like it was made in month by a college student. This could have been good on gameboy in 1995 but it's just crazy underwhelming by today's standards.

Look, the game isnt perfect, its not high-standards, but it wasnt terrible. A great early project, i hope the developer learns a lot from this and will be able to create Lucas Pope Level Games one day :). There are the bones of a great idea in here somewhere.

I bought this because it was on offer for me and my friend for the lols I've also played this on Playstation and it is a good game but on both our games, when we die on lvl 26 the guy turns red and just freezes on the check point. Tried reinstalling etc but nothing seemed to fix it... waste of £0.81 Haha fix this and I'll change it to positive

5/10 This game is neither bad nor outstanding, I think it does what it sets out to do. Dungeon platformer in pixel art style, its easy at times and a challenge at others…though the ability to always retry is more than fair. An achievement of any kind would be nice for completing the levels as “perfect”, but its not a huge deal. As an entry into game making, Id say the creator did a great job and I hope it’s fuelled a fire to create more. I would recommend it to fans of oldschool gaming with an open mind, would not to anyone else.

Horned Knight is a steam videogame featuring the faintest level design with crackled accent bubble enemies that top cover a bone in a helpless shroom of entertainment addiction fun...a little ripple surprise cheerful as it senses encounter irreverent castle wall nature...its a manner of speaking like a short wait delayed i give this game a 10/10 a shrouded cloud of conceptual stages that drive your mind jaggering insane love the burrito master
