About This Game

Patrick's Parabox is an award-winning puzzle game that explores a unique recursive system of boxes within boxes within boxes within boxes. Learn to manipulate the world's structure by pushing boxes into and out of each other. Wrap your head around what happens when a box contains itself, and learn to use infinity to your advantage. Explore many more mechanics and recursive twists as you delve deeper and deeper into the system. It's boxes all the way down.

The game has over 350 hand-crafted puzzles, which are designed to make you think, but also to guide you and showcase the beauty of the system. Each puzzle contains a new idea; there is no filler.

A soothing, inquisitive soundtrack and sound design by Priscilla Snow reflects new mechanics as they are introduced.

Patrick's Parabox won the Excellence in Design award in the Independent Games Festival 2020. The game was also an IndieCade 2019 festival selection and received the IndieCade Developers Choice award.

Patrick’s Parabox is an incredibly fun and clever puzzle game with some of the best “aha!” moments I’ve had in a while. The mechanics are simple to grasp but keep unfolding into mind-bending challenges. Some puzzles can be brute-forced if you’re patient enough, but finding the intended solution always feels way more satisfying.

[Mediocre] sokoban game. It's neat, cute, and has interesting mechanics, but it's ultimately boring. About 10% of the game is actually fun and interesting, the rest is not. The game is worth the casual speed-run through main levels just to check out the gimmicks and finish the game. The first issue is "quantity over quality". Majority of levels are on shape-box difficulty, repeating the pattern you were given in previous levels and simply applying it again, and often again and again. Sometimes it worked well, making it trickier, but more often than not, it was not trickier, just the same in a different layout. The second issue is resetting difficulty with each "area". You get to the area, you are given new gimmick, about half of the levels are tutorial, maybe 1 or 2 levels that makes you stop and think, then it's over and it resets to the next gimmick, next tutorial and so forth. In my opinion, the game would've been far more fun if each area had two main paths and a third one for f...

This game was absolutely amazing. However, I must give a fair warning about this game: If you are a hardcore puzzle game expert I feel like this game will be fairly easier for you than you would like. I am no genius, in fact, I can't beat most puzzle games I install, however, it only took me 10 hours to beat this game 100%. For a game that's centered around paradoxes I was expecting it to take me a solid the rest of my lifespan to beat, but it didn't. And I liked that about this game. Thats what leads me to believe hardcore puzzle game fans may find it a bit easier than expected, but otherwise I think this game is perfect. The only real complaint I have is I wish there was an in-game level maker and not just a puzzle loader.

Fun puzzle game that is actually a lot easier than it looks. The concepts can be a bit bizarre but the puzzles usually have a small scope so if your intuition fails you can just brute force things. The 20 hours makes it look like I was just scratching my head the whole time but there are 300 puzzles in the base game so only about 3 to 4 minutes per puzzle which felt about perfect to me.
